i tried to set up synergy today, but i'm having some problems. i have the server "terrestris" set up with screens "terrestris" and "mauritanicus", and my links are "mauritanicus is left of terrestris" and "terrestris is right of mauritanicus", and i click test on both client and server and everything works fine. then i set autostart "when computer starts", and i reboot both machines. on mauritanicus, i get a icon in the system tray saying "synergy 1.3.1: connected to terrestris". on terrestris, i have no icon in the system tray, and my mouse won't move over to the other screen. however, task manager shows synergys.exe as running. any ideas? terrestris is vista x64, mauritanicus is xp pro x32.
Have you tried running them both and seeing if you can switch screens? Maybe something to do with terrestris running x64. I have used synergy for a while and although sometimes it plays up due to network congestion I have never had the issue of the icon not appearing.
I use it too, to share between Linux and Windows. Linux is my server (of course ). I had a problem with both Synergy versions not being exactly the same. Other than that I'd suggest running in verbose mode and looking at the different steps.
