PSU System Advice

    I built my own rig all very unplanned, and at the moment it is..

    AMD Athlon II x2 250 3.0Ghz
    ASUS M4N68LE M V2
    4GB Patriot DDR3 1333mhz
    OCZ Vetrex SSD
    Samsung Spinpoint 1TB
    Sapphire Radeon 6750
    Cheap Case & PSU

    Now i think my PSU is starting to strain now i have a GPU, intermittent screen saying detected surges. So my next purchase is a nice case and PSU. Factal R3 + not sure ???

    Now it games well, except Modern warfare 2 is bit glitchy... could this be PSU related? or do i need a quad core??

    this should take care of your questions on the psu, i have the corsair 650hx and love it. As far as the case goes i can only recommend lian-li a70f and PC-7FN as those are the ones i have dealt with the most. The antec three hundred is pretty decent but the front bezel is not made very well.

    As far as a quad goes you need higher clock speed to help performance in games not more cores so i dont think that would benefit you unless you bought a faster quad core. I would try replacing the case and psu first and see what happens after that. If you still have problems you could try overclocking cpu or gpu and see if that helps any.

    EDIT: Looks like you got some help in your other thread about psu causing the problems, hope you get it sorted.

    really liking the look of that case myself...if you get it, let me know how the noise suppression is...did i spell that right? suppression?

    I got an r3 and that's pretty good If you like a minimalistic design and I you want a quiet case (fans/hdds are the biggest factor mind :))

    Was going to get R3 but the amount of imperfect cases turning up to peoples houses put me off

    Argh I didnt know about that lol Well im definately thinking of going into the shop for the website I'm buying everything from. it's in Coventry and I will be in Birmingham so it's not too far to drive. Plus free fuel!

    That way I can check the case instore xD

    Eclipse Computers by any chance?

    Is the R3 available in colours other than white? At least thats all that scan is offering.

    Yeah xD and not sure will check Fractal Design at Eclipse

    I'm having the black as my keyboard/mouse and screen will also be black, i'd have the white if i could get everything else in white lol
