Hi All, I am running SP2 with the socket patch applied. But when i try and run a proxy based program my computer crashes, i get a blue screen up but i dont get long enough to read the error. Does anyone know of any programs that can capture this data for me so i can get an idea or what is causing it to crash Regards
Welcome to bit-tech, AFAIK you can set it to remain at the BSOD after a failure, try: Start > control panel > system > advanced > (startup and recovery) settings > and uncheck "automatically restart" Then try and crash it, it should stay up long enough to read the error code. Edit: You might have to restart for the settings to take effect.

Ha, that old chestnut... Completely uninstalling the nVidia firewall seems to be the general consensus, apparently disabling it isn't enough. If that doesn't sort it, start updating drivers and BIOS versions until it clears up
If it doesn't show up in add / remove programs, I'd insert the install disk that came with the motherboard, it should give the option to update / uninstall components.
I dont have the disk that came with the motherboard? Is there any other way i can do it? Thanks for all ya help so far really appreciating it ********************************************************* Also i have downloaded the new BIOS but i can only find instructions to update it via floppy but my machine doens't have a floppy drive. Anybody know of any programs? ********************************************************
I've read into it's removal a bit and found this page, which points you to this site, it doesn't look easy so take your time, maybe printing it out first would be best. Good luck with the removal, it looks tricky
