    lo all ....

well my time has come , i have been lurking on the forums for quite some time now , in the dark .... planning :D , rebuilding :dremel: .. I have been a very big fan or Dr Who since the 80,s . after a bit of web searching , i have only found one other Tardis PC , made by some dutch bloke . he made his out of wood and it looked very good , but i am going to be making my one out of aluminum , having a brother who works for a aluminum company is very handy :D ....

any how this project will be updated as much as possible , but plz remember i work long shifts and have to fit this in with my real life . the first part of this project will start with the frame of my blue box :)

i chose 4mm thick 1' by 1' aluminum box section , it is a bit on the heavy side but its very very strong , i am starting with the bottom and top squares , cutting the corners and mitering them together , the only thing i can not do is weld alu , so that will be welded in my brothers works , one other problem i have is i have made the out side size 15' but i am still stuck as to how tall to make it !!! , but any how i have to go and do more fileing so i will leave you some images to look at ..

i have a 3700 amd but would like to get a fx or a dual core (wish list)
    tagan psu 480w (have)
    saphire x800 gto2 (have)
creative X-Fi Elite Pro (wish list)

i am still stuck as to air or water cooling , i want water cooling but i don't know if my budget will allow ( plzz wife , let me have it :) )

see you all soon , plz feel free to comment or offer suggestions

also wanted to add , if there are any modders out there in the south wales area looking for a good metal supply peeps , try c g rees in north rd , man you should see the slabs of copper they got :naughty:

    http://www.metalstock.co.uk/

very good prices and they can cut the metal for you :thumb:

    I don't believe this.. :eeek:

Last night whilst I was sitting on my bed, after watching Doctor Who..I thought to myself.."mmm I might make a tardis computer mod..seeing as it's original..and I don't think anyone else has done it.." then..what do I find the next day? Someone planning one! :duh:

Anywho..hope it all goes well, I shall be following this..and I need a new idea now..lol

lol yeh sorry dude ... i held off for a bit just in case some one else did it , its been in planning for about 3 months , and my brother kept on nagging me to start it so i did , sorry m8 .... , i have hopefully got a trip round the BBC to look at the Dr Who set ( god its sweet to have my kids in the same school that lots of BBC peeps kids go to ) i will post any pics up for the who heads on the forum ...

any how some more pic for you , i have 75% of the tardis cut up and ready for my bro to get welding on :naughty: , in the first image i put the frame together using sticky tape , just so i could get a rough idea of the correct height , and the height is approx 1000 mm high by 16' square

and i also got a teaser shot of my brothers work in progress ( i may add his new PC will be F**king BIG )

enjoy all , update as soon as i have a welded frame back to me , also i know this may be a bad idea , but i have the option of not painting the box blue but having it all polished alu ...... what u lot think ? . i will also be modding my G15 keyboard to match the mod :thumb:

I think that's a great idea. Painting it blue would just ruin the appearance.

Great mod, its going to look great if you keep the quality of work up. And that motherboard tray with the PCI and fan hole is a great feature and all the parts have a great quality of production...
