    T.H.U.G (Tony Hawks UnderGround)

5th games in the series. Anyone else really exicted to play the new version? New options include: Create a trick, create a level (not just a park a whole level!), face mapping, ability to get off the board and walk / climb / drive vechiles.

I'm interested to see how these new features turn out, especially now you can wallplant and link tricks by getting off your board.

its the only Skateboarding game I've ever been interested in, and have some degree of faith that it wont be as sucky as all other Tony Hawks games

I've only played THPS3 & 4 and thought they were both excellent. What didn't you like about them?

I hated the restrictive style about whatever version(s) I played (I rented it, but never took note of which version). the animation was static, the moves were annoying - basically I wanted SSX tricky with a skateboard, but didnt get it

I can't be assed with this one unless it's something different... Got board of the last ones pretty quickly.

Ok I borrows the game off my cousin (had no cash to buy it) and I have to say I'm 50/50 on it. I've almost completed the game now I'm on the last chapter. My thoughts:

    > Driving stages are complete crap. Everything handles the same, cars, taxis, leaf blowers. I dunno why they wasted the time to incorperate this.
    > New moves. Wall planet and wall push are great means you can keep combos going for ages without bumping into things.
    > Walking. Another great feature, acid dropping is so much fun. Also climbing around on roof tops to find gaps.
    > Levels. As far as I can tell they are the same size as THPS4 levels. The old school levels included is a nice touch.
    > Goals. Very few new olds apart from driving. Also they seem to be much easier and fewer of them only 129. Some are nice twists on older ones.
    > Graphics. Same as THPS4 no improvement which is a shame.
    > Create-a-mode deck, park, skater, trick are all awesome! Haven't been able to try out face mapping (no eyetoy here). But the sheer level of customisation is amazing.
    > Story mode - ok nothing to write home about but at least it gives you a more of a purpose to continue through the game and a overall goal. (I.e go pro, get sponsered, get a team etc).

Overall it's pretty good game although there are a few things I'd like to see polished off more. It's still pretty adicting for fans of the series like me but anyone who didn't like the first 4 aren't going to change their minds over this one. Needs more varied goals and the removeable of those driving stages.

Shouldn't it be T.H.U anyway? Underground is only one word not two...

Probably but the game is listed as T.H.U.G. Guess that's the way they are marketing it.

An "acid drop" in skating terms is where you jump into a 1/4 pipe from a run or standing still postiion. You can now finally do this in the game.
