Who would go around town wearing a bit-tech t-shirt anyway?

Maybe alright for Lans I suppose.

    Bah Humbug! eh Sid?

Any nice coloured shirt with a cool, modern graphic will get plenty of wear by most people, whether around town or otherwise. If you feel you would be shamefully associated with all the "nerds" by wearing a shirt with a web addy on it then console yourself with this thought my friend: BiT is a specialised interest website so, realistically, 99.99% of the population isn't going to know what 'BiT-Tech.net' means anyway so you wouldn't be embarassed. Those who do know are likely to be the sort of people who will come up to you and go "cool shirt mate!".

If you feel you would only wear one when 'slumming' it with the rest of us "geeks" at LANs then I'd rather you didn't. At least that way I could be assured that anyone wearing one wasn't a pessimistic incarnation of Ebeneezer Scrooge. :eyebrow:

    General thought:

Perhaps if Sid wouldn't wear one ... then maybe that could be taken as an endorsement that everyone else would? ;)

Perhaps Sid dislike = :thumb: for normal people?

    Interesting theory... :D

Generally, I don't wear things with logos and I doubt anyone from bit-tech would be able to design a t-shirt that I'd prefer over one designed by a professional, anyway.

It's not about being embarassed. I just don't like logos or logo t-shirts. I'd be just as embarassed going around wearing a t-shirt saying, erm, I dunno, "Gucci" or something.

That aside, when would you wear it? Going to pub with mates? Dinner with a nice lady? Wouldn't really be suitable for that at all. LANs or sitting around the house are the only occassions I can think of.

I wouldn't say I'm being particularly pessimistic - more like realistic.

What's this Ebeneezer Scrooge link you are making. His main character was being mean with his money. I doubt a bit-tech t-shirt would be expensive. Don't really understand what you're getting at.

I think the phrase "Bah Humbug" has come to mean something like "party pooper".

I never actually said any of that... You chose to interpret it that way. You can't assume that your interpretation is what I was meaning, then base all your arguments on it.

And at what time during this thread did I make it seem like my opinions were anyones other than my own?

Apart from the summer, that would be correct, actually. But that's not the point.

The interpretation I got was 'Who'd be sad enough to be seen around town with a bit-tech/web-site t-shirt?', which from a member of the forums I found a little unfortunate.

If you actually meant 'I'm a style 'guru' and I only wear stuff off the peg in Gap' then thats fair enough.

    Gay And Proud? :p

A t-shirt would be alright :thumb: with maybe a small logo on the front to the top left or right, and then a big bit-tech logo on the back, with something like `http://www.bit-tech.net - we're on the case` underneath it :p

No one cares what you wear....
a girl isn't going to turn to her firend and say

"look at that freak over there in a bit-tech shirt..!"

I'd wear one... only if I could have written on the back

    "me = mod, you = member" :D

I wore my free Soyo Dragon t-shirt round alton towers, heck, I wear it all the time, it's been designed with your average computer geek in mind.... size XXXXXXL

Yeah, I remember it being a bit tight on you mate

I'd get a bit-tech shirt for the likes of going to the pub with the lads, wearing in lectures, wearing round the house, wearing when shopping etc.

The only time i wouldn't wear it is to a club, restaurant, a wedding or a funeral. Geeky t-shirts are cool...

Yeah, I agree. A freak will be called a freak regardless of what t-shirt they wear! ;) :D

Didn't Zapwizard actual make and wear a bit-tech.net t-shirt round an IT show once? I'm pretty sure there is even a guide in his media PC log somewhere.

Anyway geek shirts rule and I plan on buying a few when I actually have some money.
