    They now have laptops with DX11 cards so this is not impressive. The half height ones are useful for moded cases but most mobos are designed for dual slot.

    Like you really were going to use that PCI slot anyway?

    I'm just talking about the technology - if Galaxy can cool the thermal oven of a GTX470 in a single slot then 5770 and 5830 is not that hard.

    A 5830 even longer?

    What is this longer card competition?

    It is a better option if the cards length is ok. else shift the cooler on the backside like MSI does with its passive cooler.
