Food & Drink Tea or Coffee

I probably require a little bit of milk in mine because I drink crappy instant and it takes away the bitter chemical aftertaste

 

Then you my friend, do not drink coffee

 

If we have to get rid of all those who take milk in their coffee, should you not also be taking out all those who drink milk with their tea?
I see adding milk to coffee much like I see adding spices and herbs to food; it can be there to enhance the flavour. I might not like some combinations of herbs but I'm not going to shout at others for using blends they prefer. Although I'm predominantly a black coffee drinker I do like the occasional latte

 

there is a fine line between coffee and paint thinner.

like i stated a few posts up, a quad cappuccino with a bit of caramel syrup is still more coffee than most can handle.

i'm truly sorry that you think that coffee should be an assault on the taste buds. some people are more genetically inclined to be sensitive to bitter flavors. i happen to be one of them. black coffee tastes about the same to me as battery acid.
if you don't have the genetic marker that produces this effect, you cannot possibly understand.

 

So don't drink coffee! Find a drink you like and drink it. Just don't dress up a few mils of coffee with hundreds of mils of sugar loaded crap and then claim to be a coffee drinker.

 

The milk was added to tea originally because mugs were so poorly made that the almost boiling water would make them literally explode. So the milk cooled down the hot water

I drink around half of my teas with milk, and half without. Simply depends on what type of tea.

Coffee always black, no sugar (but sometimes a spoonful of muscovado in espresso)

 

Coffee in the morning, tea for the rest of the day. My Irish girlfriend told me yesterday that she never drank as much tea as she does now since i moved in.

 

that only happened to the working classes cups , porcelain used by the upper classes didn't have this problem yet milk was still added. it did however mean that the poorer classes had very milky tea (added milk first) and the upper classes could add milk till the right colour and taste was achived.

 

damn. sounds to me like someone needs to switch to the decaf before he pops a blood vessel.

 

I don't drink all that much hot tea, just some green tea on occasion, but I do like iced tea a lot. I hate coffee however, so tea all the way!

I received some coffee beans through the post from a Landrover promotion, of all things, the other day. Not sure what it'll turn out like, but they don't smell too pretty.

 

I make coffee yet I don't drink the stuff... Or tea for that matter.

I generally function without caffeine, come exam time or assignment deadlines I skip all the brewing and sweetening nonsense and go straight to two-litre bottles of full coke. Sugar and caffeine in one bottle. nasty but functional!

 

The caffeine in coke is negligable. Certainly it's got nothing on a strong cup of coffee. You'll need to drink about 4 litres of coke to have had as much caffeine as is in 1 cup of decent coffee.

 

I had a tea once, but it had about about 30 sugars in it. I don't remember why. It was nice, but I think that was the sugar talking. I don't like it normally, and I definitely don't like coffee.

 

1 tea in the morning (no sugar no milk) and that's it.

 

Tea wins, but coffee is a nice change every so often.
