this is being compared to the case of Eppie Dawson , who also had sex with a pupil and yet didn't even go to prison!
She had sex with a 17-year old pupil. Gross professional misconduct, but not quite the same as having sex with a minor and then taking said minor abroad without parental consent.
http://www.parentdish.co.uk/2013/07...der-schoolgirls-bed-by-her-mum/?ncid=webmail3 Arrested for abusing a position of trust. TBH? the sentence should be ten years. Might make the sick *******s think twice.
Considering that I know people who married at 16 still, I think it may be because of a changing attitude towards maturity that's only shown up in the past few decades. We're still geared to start early and keep procreating for a while. It would be a long, long time before our bodies' urges caught up with our new societal norms.
The sick part is exactly what the arrest was made for: abusing a position of trust. She may not be a minor like the 15 year old girl the thread started about, but it's still a questionable relationship between an adult teacher and a teenage student. There's a high risk that some level of exploitation was involved, teachers are in a position where they may take advantage of the trust placed in them and the emotional immaturity of their students.
for the record megan stammers isn`t 15 anymore (by a long shot) - she is also 16. and what about the 16 year old `taking advantage` themselves? miss stammers herself said she did just that....
Doesn't make him 'sick' for ignoring his status in a 'position of trust'. I just wish people would save the hyperbole for the comments section of the Daily Mail, or the front page of the Sun, and keep it out of a sensible place like this, t'is all.
I believe it does. He is in a position to provide education and guidance to teens, abusing that position to instead have sex with them is sick. No hyperbole about it.
