i have been running water cooling for ages now and thought id try using 2 tec instead to have lower temps... i have a e8400, p5k3 deluxe mbord, 8800gtx, 2gb ram... the vrms an chipsets are cooled on a single 120 rad.. i had the cpu an gpu on one loop with a dual an triple rad... ive split it so the cpu an gpu are cooled with 2 130w tecs... the hot side is still cooled by the triple an dual an also 2 cora passive extrusions.... thing is with comp turned off the cold side is runnin bout 12C an the hot side is about 21c....when i fold on cpu an gpu the cold side is runnin bout 38c an the hot side bout 27c.... but my cpu an gpu are running bout 10c hotter by checkin temps on speedfan..... whats gone wrong???
i got 2 water blocks for the hot side....an i got these mounted on a x58 full board block....so the cold side is running on the x58 block an through the cpu, gpu then res an pump...
Sounds like you've plumbed it wrong to me mate, but I could be wrong. Other thing to consider is are the TECs getting enough power? They put a massive drain on the 12v rail of a PSU.
i just checked the voltage....i only got 5v on each tec.... rite...i got a hyper580w psu...that supplis the mboard, gpu, hdd an cd... i got a 400w psu...an i made an adaptor to start it when the hyper is turned on......all thats running off this psu is the 2 tecs, 2 temp displays, an a pump.... this shud b well within the psu??? shudnt it.... an why doesnt it have 12v on the molex???
ive got 2 wires on the tec.....they were red an black.....so i wired it to the red an black on a molex.....is that wrong then???
rite...i have rewired the molex now...an its running with 12v now.... temps r dropping but with no load its down to bout 24.5c....hot side is 24v how low shud it go... wud i b better with a very high flow pump on the cold side....it doenst seem to b that fast...
You'll probably need more rad's. You're now dumping an extra 130w in to each loop. How hot is your room? Watercooling can never drop below ambient temperature however I'd expect the cold side of the tec to be at least 10 degrees colder.
