Was wondering if someone can give me some pointers before i do a long drive to devon.

A friend of the inlaws (shes 75) fell for one of these telephone you need your computer fixing scams from what i can tell from my father inlaw they have taken off avg, put on Rising cloud and ccleaner given her a 9year telephone deal and taken over £100 from her.

Has anyone had to mop up one of these already and if so anything i should look for in particular?

    Cheers

Paid by credit card? Call the bank, get the charge reversed.

I live in Devon, roughly what part do they live, I could take a look if you like, save you a huge ass trip. Otherwise you could try log me in or team viewer for remote access to them. I happen to know that Piriform Ccleaner is legit, It is a registry cleaner we use at work.
Rising cloud appears to be of Chinese. I would try to reinstall.
We find at work that a USB key with the latest Super anti spyware portable version installed and the install .exe of Malware Bytes Anti Malware cleans most things we throw at it.
    Procedure:
    1. Safe Mode
2 Run SAS from the USB key and update
    3 run a full/complete scan
    3b Make a brew
    4 clean up
5 DO NOT REBOOT WHEN PROMPTED
    6 Install MBAM
    7 Update
    8 Run full scan
    8b Make another brew
    9 Clean up
    10 Reboot into normal mode
    11 Turn off system restore
12 Run SAS from USB key and update and run full scan
13 This should come up clear
14 Run MBAM again and have another brew
15 If both come up clear, run Piriform Ccleaner and do a registry clean (Make a backup first)
16 Clean all temp files etc

Sorry if I telling you stuff you already know, just trying to be helpful
