Windows Telephone / Phone software for the computer.

First off good job on changing up the forums a bit.

Second off I need to know if there is any software that can allow my computer be used as a telephone so I can call people from my computer.

Third off I do not want to have to pay charges when calling local areas in my city, I know long distance may cost something unless you can find a way around that.

 

So no one in here know's of any?

 

dont know of any tbh, BUT if u type the phone number into your modem dialer and conect a mic up on some modems u can use them as a phone...

 

Yea but if I did that I would be tieing up my phone line all of the time and that is what I am trying not to do. I am wanting to be able to call someone without using my phone line, but from my computer which is best cause I have extremly nice head set that I could use to talk over then.

 

unfortunately things like that don't work anymore. there was phonefree and several other programs that did it. i tried them but they all sucked. lots of static. poor quality and lots of disconnects.

 

Damnit it makes me mad all the thing you used to could do freely without anybody bitching about it and now days you can't hardly go to the restroom without someone wanting to get involved.

i don't know if it still works but in a old version of MSN messenger you can make phone calls. there is a site i think its www.oldversion.com were you can get it.

 

Checked into that and everything still costs by the minute.
