I got to walk with Dave Hill of Slade and learned some things about his history other fans dont normally get to hear, also I am lucky enough to have the privilage of being a freind to members of the 1980's NWOBHM rock band Demon and videoing gigs for them. One of my biggest claims to fame is being the only holder of the expert specialist punkbuster kick medal for BF2 due to my bad wireless internet connection causing punkbuster b to fail lol
Since everyone seems to have done so many amazing things I'll add that I'm a direct descendant of William Grant who founded the Glenfiddich distillery along with the parent company William Grant and Sons. Also, I live next door to Noel Ghallager and 'rescued' Mike Oldfield's dog yet I haven't met either of them.
I'm currently a test pilot for Parajet. Once beat Tony Blair's kids at hockey (at a pre-'97 fundraiser); Dad's got photos with most of the Royal Family, Gorbachev, Clinton etc etc. Been to 10 film premières, in the course of which have chatted to Stephen Fry, Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Simon Pegg etc, courtesy of one of Dad's jobs. Also met Orlando Bloom in the gents, and showed Jude Law and son around my school. Grandson of a nuclear submarine captain who won the Birdman of Bognor in an own-design sea-hanglider called 'Tweety' (yeah, he's nuts). Other family members have sailed round the world (collectively also nuts) - one now in the SAS, another in the French Foreign Legion. SO JEALOUS
Ahhh i remember seeing the documentry about that flying car...Damn the looked scary when he was doing the flights on the beach and almost went in the sea...Awsome though
Nothing too interesting, but: My, admittedly geeky, claim to fame is meeting and having lunch with the lead graphics programmers for DICE, Ubisoft (SC:Conviction, and Assasin's Creed),Crytek, and Bungie at Siggraph. My lead graphics programmer has met and discussed tech with John Carmack. Jealous. A distant cousin of mine is astronaut Ken Bowersox. I've met race car drivers, Al Unser Jr and Kyle Petty. My father has met Chuck Norris.
My dad was best mates with Peter Green at school and i even got to meet him when i was a kid. Also Robert Plant frequently drinks in my local This isn't fame but i think its kinda cool. When applying for my passport i managed to get the town mayor to be my countersigner lol
