Lovely work on the case Cheaps glad to see its come so nicely
This build came out SO weird that I really don't know what to think of it.
I mean - I DO appreciate all the hard work that went in to it, but I have a very hard time deciding whether or not I like the choice of colours - and the extensive use of acrylic. It's like it's made from plastic and I don't really know if that's bad or good.
Anyway, something just SCREAMS "Missing mobo cover! Missing mobo cover! BAAAADLY missing mobo cover!". Any thoughts on that, or just plain tired of the build by now? (wouldn't blame you for that, for certain!)
@Angel#1 - In the current weather, I have to worry about the insane glare, and possibly melting.
@Angel#2 - One of the best? Are you high?
@confusis - Back to GG, and there's a lot of stuff going on in the shadows...
@Shael - Thanks
@Nutman - Well, the whole retrofit was about turning a showy case into something more practical. I don't think adding to the already chaotic insides will help. She's up to at least 50 pounds already.
GG will get a mobo cover. Wait for that one.
It's funny how this looks like a cage for a guinea pig if you open it up and look at the res
Very nice work as usual Cheaps
One question, when you put that acrylic in the oven for 10 minutes at 300F, what was the acrylic sitting on?
A piece of wood or something?
Wow that thing is crazy awesome!
Real nice work. Nice and clean. Looks like it came from a store that way.
@JV - This is the 2nd case I've designed that got that response.
@Mvagusta - It's on that MDF mold, on a cookie sheet.
You're one of those whose creativity is dangerous. This case looks like it came out of Tron.
Had that cough for a while, might want to get it checked out..
It's one-of-a-kind and mind warping, just the way I like it. Glad to see it finished cheaps!
@Voigts - Yes, dangerous describes me perfectly. Thanks.
@Bill - Thanks, Man. You forgot eye-hurting.
edit: and she's dead again already. I didn't get 8 months out of that drive. It's really sad considering it only ran ~3 hours a day.
Exceptional work as always cheaps, very nice.
wow, looks amazing cheaps well done.
Great Work! So do you have any finish line traditions? Cigar? Scotch? Another case?
You know that NO mod is ever done. It's like every time you sit back and look at it the brain says "How about, What if, Tweak this, Change that,..."
The only way to finish a mod is to sell it. Otherwise it will haunt you with - "I could have made that part better."
Great work as always.
@Monkeyfun - Just cleanup. I packed up all the extra parts and loose bits of (blue and uv red) plexi. I need to commandeer a BIG bin for plastic scraps.
@John - Good to see you in here. Improvements go into the next build, which is long overdo for a restart. The only things Bloo will need in the future would be usb3.0 in the front jacks, and an extension cord to add more drives. For now I need it to be the workhorse I built it to be. -If I can get 7 to quit being a whiny b*tch...
Holy crap is it really finished? I must admit that GG is the build I was following and liking a lot before it went awol.
This looks wicked you dont know what to look at first
@Attila - Twice even! GG has returned from it's temporary use as a shirt drawer.
- That's called 'noisy' or 'too busy'.
