ok this is my system, which is watercooled:

    abit it7
    1.6a NW @ 2.51 --- 1.6(real time) volts
    2x 512 Corsair 512MB DDR XMS3200 @210fsb 2.7v
    Geforce 256
    no pci cards
    80gb ibm 7200rpm hdd ata100
    16x dvd (on another cable)

@ no load the temps are:

    cpu : 40c
    chipset: 31c

@ load the temps are: (sandra high stress)

    cpu 45
    chipset: 35

i've tried using a fan to blow on the cpu but no change.

any idea why im getting high temp to start?

I really wouldn't trust an onboard thermistor for temps when using a watercooling setup. So i wouldn't worry about those temps..and they are better than alot of HSF's anyway :)

Well..I think the best way would be the built in temp sensors (as in the athlon xp's, only certain newer boards read from those)...next would be a digidoc sensor taped close to the core. Anybody else?
