Temps

    got my replacment XP2000+ today.

    Im getting temps of 54oc IDLE cooled by a Taisol 760.

    Just how bad are these temps, could it cause damage to the chip?

    Read the thread about XP2100+ and A7V333....it depends how it's measured.

    using Hardware Monitor, which uses the mobo probes.

    That's a little on the hot side then. What case ventilation do you have?

    80mm Blow Hole on the side of the case, its a cheiftech scorpio.

    Hmmm....that sounds very high, assuming you've installed fans in all the slots in the chieftec?

    What is your room temp like?

    If the chip isn't oced, then that is a little on the hot side, but could be ok. Cooler is better though, in terms of chip life. What thermal compound are you using?
