I dont know if I would say the game is better. Same thing, just more items. More bosses. I think i'm done playing. Starting to feel sick just thinking about spending more time in there...
Killed almost every boss. I usually get to this point and i get tired of it.

So i just got the DEFIB out on this thread

I bought this a few month ago for around £1.70 ish from Steam, not even knowing why i got it. I only just asked my 8 year old son what it is all about, and boy have i been enjoying it.

Still so much to learn but for passing time this game rocks

It's fun for sure, it will waste your life until you look outside and see the sun and remember the rest of the world is still out there. Maybe it's wondering where you have gone to. you will go out into the light and reconnect with past loved ones.
    Enjoy the ride!

Aye I got this aaaages ago (on xbox 360) with some MSpoints i had lying around, then barely touched it.
After my son got quite into minecraft recently (and subsequently me too) I gave it another bash, it appeared to have been updated with more recipes and the tutorial was fixed (it told you to make a house, but did not state how to make the wall at the back to progress to next stage, i spent an hour raging at it before i googled it....).

Lot of fun, have not played in a week or so but i think im attempting to get the next level of weapons etc, just hit a rather deep level and found a new ore (its the sort of 2nd level below ground) and also something to summon the first boss!

Few posts back some people where saying its much better than minecraft, I think they have similar ideas behind the scenes, but where minecraft allows much better building of complex machines or structures, terraria has a much better survival imo.

I've played this game way too much, I think i've pretty much done most of the things you can do in it. I ran a server for agessss until my mate kept leaving lava generators running, and thus flooding and ruining everywhere....all the time haha.

Same xD, I thought that pumping a liquid would drain the source. My closed loop lava waterfall just flooded everything.

hehe i did exactly that to create a lava waterfall - went off "questing" for a bit, came back and everything was flooded, that was when I realised it wasn't a waterfall at all and was in fact a generator. I had done some building without a buddy, and thus he just turned loads of switches on and off, then he went off questing, came back to desolation. Then he kept doing this multiple times until there was nothing left that was any good.

Yep, it's acting like a generator. All in all, Terraria is worth every penny I paied for it even if I stopped playing it. Hundreds of hours for 3€ during sales.

I haven't checked if Starbound has pumping system. I bought and played the beta, but I'm waiting for the final version to be out to play again.

I switched to Minecraft now. While the survival part is inferior to the one in starbound / terraria, the building part is far superior.

I have played starbound for maybe 10 minutes, I am also waiting for that to be finished before investing real time in it. I agree - I paid not much money at all for terraria and have played it more than some triple A titles that cost considerably more.
