All joking aside, i wouldn't be surprised if there is a civil uprising of sorts with in the next few months, when public services are cut even deeper. Joke is, its cheaper for the government to shut down public services and drop these people onto JSA and other benefits than it is to pay them a salary. There is also rumour that soon under JSA agreement that in order claim you have to work in voluntary rolls. A friend who would be classified as terminally unemployed is doing such work at a local charity shop. Now the way i see it going is certain jobs will be axed and filled in with volunteers claiming JSA. So your bin man might change every 6 weeks for someone who doesn't give a dam. Essentially cutting the minimum salary with in the public sector to JSA allowance. No union to back up such workers as well. If my predictions (which is pretty far fetched at the moment i understand that so don't burn me too much) come true, then we're in for a world of hurt!
