    OK.
I have the option of keeping one of the following TFT's

    NEC 1701
    Hercules ProphetView 920

Both are 17", both are mainly black, both have only D-SUb analogue input. Hercules has external power brick, NEC is built in.

Quality is not an issue, i reckon the picture is spot on in both, and neither have dead pixels :)

    PICTURES HERE!

Which do you think i should keep? Im thinking NEC atm....
I have been using the hercules for the past month or so, and am not sure i like the bevelled edges.

    Opinions pls ppl!

the NEC, it's the all around better monitor, although I like the looks of the other, except for the odd button placement.

NEC, although bear in mind you dont get a DVI cable with either i dont think. Not like the LG1710b which has everything and is exceptionally lovely and you should buy it from amazon or MD for £330.

    ;)

Half a dozen converts and counting :D

I've just bought a couple of 17" Hitatchi CML174SXB's - cost me £340 (each obvsly!) from Scan.

    16ms response time, A1 clarity/colour... mmmm... very nice. :D

So not many hercules fans here?!
