Thanos - Thermaltake CaseMOD Invitational Season 1

2021 Thermaltake CaseMOD Invitational Season 1 has started!

Here is the beast! The Case Thermaltake Core P8!!




we started by disassembling the case:

 

We continue printing the bad guy: Thanos

​

 

I got 9 printers now and you think i get to use one to print a case mod part

I like that you didn't go with the movie Thanos.... i'm so over movie/game themed case mods.

 

After about 280 hours of printing here is Thanos. Ready for sanding.





But first I give it a coat of epoxy

 

I paint thanos to bring out the gluing and printing defects.

Now I start grouting with epoxy putty. It will be a long job

 

We continue to sand and fill ... fill and sand ... a few more hours and it will be ready for painting

In the meantime, other components are on the way:

We are continuing to print parts of our custom PC .

For now we have used about 15 kg of PLA

 

Here are some photos of the hardware, let's start with the RAM:

TOUGHRAM XG RGB Memory DDR4 3600MHz 32GB (8GB x4)

 

In the meantime we are proceeding with the gluing of the parts.

 

Then we continue to fill and sand the printed parts...

We continue to sand and putty the pieces until they are perfect

The next step is painting with a primer and then we mask some parts

We paint with a chameleonic purple with blue reflections.

Then we finish with an opaque clearcoat.

the masked parts will be painted in metallic gray

Let's move on to Thanos painting. Let's start by masking the parts that will be painted gold.




After painting the thanos suit, I mask the suit to paint the armor.


Here are the first layers of the golden color.

Then I add some details, and I'll finish it with the airbrush.

We've finished printing the back of the throne! over 200 hours of printing

After coating with the epoxy, I continue to grout to prepare the piece for painting
