Not one film in particular, but the films that get me are the ones where someone is offering their life in sacrifice. Armageddon (Bruce Willis), Saving Private Ryan (All of the soldiers)... You get the idea.

I don't always full out show it, but those kinds of moments in film inspire me with feelings of bravado, wanting to do something like that myself, and also grief, knowing that they're giving up their own life for someone else. It's one of those feelings that you're not sure whether you like it or not, but every time it happens, I get chills all over me thinking that's how I'd like to go out.

    Ah, I get you stuartpb.

No, nothing wrong but I guess is it the film making you cry or the fact that it stirs up those emotions and memories from real life events?

I guess it doesn't really matter at the end of the day.

    Um..

The closest I've come to crying was Hero.

I recognise that certain films are emotional (Seven Pounds, as a popular example) but they don't get my waterworks running.

I expect it's because I don't find myself watching overtly emotional films.

    <sarcasm>

Or maybe I'm just too manly, grrr

Marley and Me. In my geological age on this planet I have lost many a fine companion. Stoopid movie should have come with a disclaimer. "If you have ever had companions and lost them, do not NOT watch"

If so, FO3 made me cry a lot. "What those stoopid people at Bethesda did to a great game???"

I Am David don't read to much of the review.....
I enjoyed the film and was quite into it, then...... tears.

Not sobbing or anything, but well up and tear.

But I get that with some music, some times I hear a track from a really happy time and I'll cry. I know those times are gone and I've had to move on, I don't want to go back, I'd lose to much. But it will still touch a cord.

Green Mile when John Koffee dies. Bloody hell I cried like a little girl that had seen her pet kitten skinned in front of her eyes.

Twilight and Eclipse mainly because I normally realise that I've just wasted a couple of hours of my life. however for films that got me emotional "The rescue of Jessica McClure" also the GF says "Somewhere in Time" it gets her that bad that I got it for her and she refuses to let us watch it I've still only got a basic idea of the plot even talking to her about it gets her all clingy and emotional

Up. The first 5-10 minutes made me well up. Managed to hold it together until near the end but there was one scene that I couldn't help crying at.

Personally I think there has to be something wrong with you if that film doesn't at least have some affect on you.

I thought the ending was too ridiculous, THIS WOULD HAVE TO HAPPEN went through my head once the date was shown on the chalkboard..

Up and Toy Story 3 made me cry pretty hard.
The 'descent into hell' scene in TS3 was pretty emotional..and they were all holding hands :(

Well, add another one to my list. We saw Toy Story 3 the other day and I shed a few tears during the "holding hands" scene, as well as the very end. It made me want to go straight home and play with all my old toys.

You f*****g pussys, sorry but someone had to say it.

So who took you to the cinema your boyfriends ?

Its an old film but vanillasky used to get me. Its just the idea of loving someone so much and yet in the film he never really knew her. I watched this after about 15 pints of stella and it was a bit weepy.

Oh, and Schindler's List when the only colour in the film is this little girls red coat as she's trying to hide from the nazi's, and later on in the film you see bulldozers tipping bodies into mass graves and you see a bit of red and you know its that little girl, cut me to shreds !!
