No, it's marginally too big to print flat on my build plate, so it probably doubled the print time. The angle will probably strengthen the fixing tabs on the ends though. Silver linings an all that.

“Filter swapper”…? Do you mean “filament-swapper”?

Well, if you want to DIY filament dry boxes then I can recommend this design. I found this set of cereal boxes on Amazon UK which seem to match what was used by the US-based designer. This variation of it also adds a “rewind” mechanism, which apparently helps a lot when used with an MMU. The original version has a printable adapter to use it with the Polymaker “PolyDryer” (check the “Tools” folder).

I tend to just dry my filament once when I get it and then store it in a dry box. I do occasionally run a reel through the dryer again, if it’s filament I’ve had for a while - like the reel of TPU that I rarely use.

I’ve had a lot of “last few metres left” reels hanging around that I’ve been trying to use up lately. They’re taking up valuable dry box space - although those dry boxes are really good, I’ll admit that there’s a lot of parts needed for just a single dry box!

That's the exact same video clip they shared around the time of FormNext, a month or two back.

Was kinda hoping for a little more information this time.

In my defense, I was under-caffeinated at the time.

It looks like two weeks of my meager free time drawing triangles at the micron level has paid off. Orca's only complaint was that it's too big.
Now if I can get all the rounding errors on the G1/4 tap fixed... Anyone that thinks AI will fix stuff has never had to repair file format conversions.

I followed that rabbit hole all the way down and can confirm that the boxes match.

I've also had to print this following the explosive unwinding of a spool of ABS mid-print.

Had a voucher and a bit of a balance on my eBay account so I grabbed a couple of these, because they were going cheap:

Just the boxes, no heater unit but it's tidier than having a reel hanging off the side of my printer. I might hook up a tube directly to the runout sensor.

It dawned on me that the biggest issue most folk have with 10" racks is managing the power bricks and cables, invariably leading to a snakes nest and hastily added cable management efforts at the rear. So I figured... extensions!!

Make the 6U a 9U and make a dedicated space for all the power beasties!

Those Polydryer boxes are sweet AF. Just printed a mod for my runout sensor so I can fit a ptfe tube direct from the boxes into the printer. S'nice.

Thing is, the temptation to get more of them is pretty strong.

In other news, my replacement camera arrived and it has the point LED light that was replaced by the light bars in the later revisions of the CC. It adds a significant amount of light to the chamber, when complimenting the existing lights.

Unfortunately, the camera still doesn't work. Fark. I mean, I don't care about the camera as the printer is within arms reach, but I do want to get to the bottom of why it ain't working.

There's a guy on eBay flogging the BNIB Snapmaker branded Polydryers (heater and box) for £47 with offers. I chucked a £40 Hail Mary at him and he accepted it.

Well, TIL that Polymaker have rebranded their “PolyDryer” to “SnapDryer”… https://shop.snapmaker.com/products/snapdryer-by-polymaker

So long as it’s the same product with the same quality standards, it doesn’t really matter in the end…

I’ve been tempted by getting one before now - the drybox system I use has adapters to mount them on the PolyDryer base (the bit that actually does the heating and dehumidifying). Got a link @David?

    Yes

The double barrel mod for it tickled me, but I'll likely use it for odd reels and save the S4, also makes for a decent desicant dryer apparently.

[edit] We are ok posting ebay links, right? Was it just a marketplace restriction I'm mis-remembering?
