Out of interest what's the recoil/feedback like from Airsoft guns? 1J can't be that much; I'm suprised that you'd even notice it.

I know in Lazer Tag people have actually tried putting recoil mechanisms to make the guns feel more realistic.

My MP5 K PDW and MEU both give off a tiny kick, but nothing to report - definitely nothing compared to any real firearm. It's like a gentle prod between the stock and your shoulder

Presumably the only things that will really be affected are pistols then.

any thing that has Gas blowback will have recoil, most of it is not really noticeable it depends on the gun and what gas you use, on the other hand i have seen some GBB M4s that look like they kick pretty hard...

    see here

    incidentally, WANT!!!

    Aye, recoil isn't common.

You can get a Systema Recoil set for V2 and V3 gearboxes, though. All they do is remove any of the rubber padding to allow the piston head to slam into the head of the gearbox, basically making you need to replace the 'box more often, and risking damage to the rest of the weapon. Can't say I'd recommend touching those with so much as a barge pole.

That Inokatsu does like insanely delightful, though!

There is a slight kick, depends on the weapon how much of a kick. It's nothing compared to a real gun, but it's still noticeable, even if you're completely deaf you'll know when you're firing. My AUG can actually be uncomfortable when I put my cheek to it, although my face is right over the gearbox with the AUG, it's very loud too, I've heard of people stuffing cotton wool down around the gearbox to try and dampen the sound.

I can't wait to get my hands on a Magpul PTS ACR with GBB. I think I'll get me one of those for any milisim games I do.

Not another M4, If only I could mod a GBB or Co2 into a v3 gearbox.. And electric blowback models.. Broken idea.

If I remember rightly, someone was doing a GBB system for an otherwise electric gun.

It was all very low profile, and only showed up on ASCUK aaaages ago.

It's possible to combine the two, but the amount of work involved? It'd be an almost never ending project.

Shame we may never see that project again with ASCUK being dead and all.
Hope UKAZ works out to be the great resource that ASCUK was.

I'm not even sure it was anything but a video linked, I'd have bookmarked the project log if it was one. At least, I imagine I would have.

But, as you say, with ASCUK being dead. Bah.

    Aye, dead it is!

Sadly, I've had to stash all my airsoft stuff anywhere I'm not - Uni don't like airsoft guns in halls.

However, it hasn't stopped me working on Ghillie Mk.2, based on a concealment vest rather than straight up DPM.

    that sounds pretty sweet

i'd love a ghille but tbh i have no use for it untill i gat a sniper rifle (which a cant afford) or i guess i could use it in a spotter role or summat but i think i'd have to mod my G36 with a KAC railed handguard front some extra goodies which, again, i cant afford

    EDIT:

something like this, but in a carbine flavour

Yeah, sniping is bloody expensive, and slow going. For the price, unless you like lying in wait and nailing someone in the head without them knowing you were there, well.

Spotters are seriously lacking in airsoft, IMO, because there's so much less for them to do usually.

Perhaps I need to go to more full on milsim games..

i would love to go on a full on proper milsim game, i unforunatly dont have the time nor will i for the foreseeable future:wallbash:

incidentally, the halls at my uni were the same, what they didn't know couldn't hurt them (read: me) however ^_^

Haha, I don't have many convenient places to stash a ghillied AW338, nor an M82A1 :p

I'm more concerned about retards I live with getting hold of them than my ability to be sensible with them, to be honest.

I wouldn't trust my hallmates as far as I could throw the hall.

yeah that's fair play, i only had a carbine with a folding stock :D my plate carrier vest was another story however, my hall mates were a little better behaved. that is except this scouse chav, he purchased himself a TM AK47 and preceded to get himself busted by the wardens terrorising some peeps with it by the wardens. needless to say he got thrown out immediately etc...

its tools like that that make life much harder for us safe, law abiding airsofters

oh yeah, he bought it the day before the VCR act came into law, talk about timing

I've not got much going on with the airsoft front either, no monies right now, not even enough to play really.

Although I did get a sweet ELCAN style scope for xmas which is now aligned correctly(ish).

Oh yeah, I also went down to ultimate, last game before xmas, with my new Warrior RICAS compact with two sets of multi-colour battery powered xmas lights weaved into the molle.
