Planning The Anti-Mac Planning/concepts- Update 12/11: BOXX for your BOXX

While I wait on parts for my Epic A380 case I am designing a case for my younger brothers PC and I want to do an industrial, PowerMac G5 style case. I want to keep it relatively simple. The PSU already has blue LED fans so I am planning on either black and blue or silver aluminum and blue. These are just some concept designs so any and all feedback is appreciated!

I prefer second one personally, only because im not a lover of garish fans in the front of cases. I do like the hex mesh but just not with all the fans.

as for an anti mac logo how about an apple with 'bites' from both sides so you only have the core?

Cool design! I also like the 2nd one, with the 3rd right after. If you are going for maximum cooling, I'd add the top from number 3, to 2.

 

Where are all the I/O ports supposed to come out?

 

No optical drive? No front USB?

i'd say the 2nd and the 3rd are the best. i don't think using mesh would be that good

 

I like the 4th one.

For the logo... how about an apple with a worm hehe. Otherwise a banana as someone said before.

The back?

lol. I must stress that these are strictly concepts just to get a rough idea of what I want to go for. There will be USB ports as well as an optical drive. If I decide to do the mesh I will hide the front of the optical drive with the mesh so I didn't bother putting it in for the concepts.

I the only PC guy in a family of mac users so I have to stand up for myself . I don't really have anything against apple users, I just prefer my PC. I LOVE the powermac G5 case that this is based off of.

Rev 5: Gear with bite logo


Rev 6: Silver Aluminum, Circular mesh, 3D Gear logo with bite and small gear


Rev 7: Brushed metal, Hex mesh front panel, Large top chamfer with screws


Rev 8: Blue/silver with, 240 front grill



Suggestions for color? logo?

 

definitly the rev.8 in grey, same color as apple computers !

for the logo, maybe an apple with an arrow that goes through it ?

Try the 8th with hex mex on the front.

I have another idea for your logo. Just use the Apple logo but use a hand grenade instead of an apple.

How about a pear for a logo?

 

First of all a BIG thank you to Bill Owen, helping me out with this Lian-Li PC7 plus chassis and one of his awesome 3x120 fan grill. I love these grills and the quality is fantastic! This also helps me a lot in that I don't have to buy a whole case just to use the chassis. Now I begin the process of measuring and transferring the chassis into solidworks to begin the final planning. Oh and we got a 3d printer at work so I had to test it out!








Thanks for looking! It might be a while before I make some physical progress but having a full, accurate model in solidworks will help me a lot.

Some one found this online and Im thinking of adopting it as the Ant-Mac Logo. What do you think? I could use a little photoshop help making an outline if anyone is willing?
