No update yet sorry. Ive been super busy so I have to wait until I get some free time and money to start working on this again. Rest assured I will finish this project!

Its still in the "concept" phase so vents on the top and bottom are still in the cards. The design is driven by the Apple G5 design.

If you want the SolidWorks file you can download it from my GrabCAD profile (link in my sig).

Well this is AFTER ALL based on an Apple Mac G5 case. Google it and see that it also have the feet at the bottom and the same structure at the top.

EDIT: Roboduck answered the question before I could post :p

Sure, and if I was able to talk to the Apple designers I'd ask the same thing. As this is only based on the G5 I see no reason why you can't improve the airflow and overall look of the product, after all - I thought that was the idea?

I'll see what I can do when I have some spare time, though I haven't got SW installed at the moment - going through some trouble with my computer. Going to have to reinstall windows again soon :wallbash:

I dont suppose you would be willing to save your files as .step for me? I only have inventor and cant open your files from grabcad. It's nice to see a fellow Minnesotan doing some absolutely brilliant work.

Its only a rough concept model right now. There isn't any internal structure but I'll post a STEP version as soon as I get a chance.

Thank you sir. I love the design with the 180 mm fans and I'm thinking of using it as a starting point for my own build.

I second you, the dual 180mm intake fans look amazing. Gives a feeling of performances and looks less dead space 2 :D

Are you planning on water cooling or just air with this?

Have you had a chance to make a .step file of it?

Update time! I know Ive be MIA for a while. Ive been really busy lately with work and other projects (that I will hopefully get to share with you soon!) but I have an update on the Anti-Mac!

First of all I have to thank all the bit-tech members that supported me with the 3dconnexion design contest and helped me win this awesome BOXX system. And a big thank you to BOXX who have graciously sponsored me with a BOXX case for the Anti-Mac!

For a professional workstation BOXX is they way to go! My BOXX 3960 XTREME blows the pants off of anything Dell has to offer. Pre-Overclocked, Liquid cooled, 4.5GHz i7-2600K, name brand components and great customer service.

    So here we go...

The BOXX chassis is a very simple aluminum design with a few very cool features.

One thing you will notice is the lack of HDD bay. 2x 120mm fans in the front and an 80mm fan provide excellent airflow with no interruptions.

    So where are the HDDs?

They are mounted on behind the motherboard tray.

    Ollie the mod-dog found something...

Phillips head screws! :nono: those will need to go :dremel:

Time to get back to work! Stay tuned!
