Funny you say that, me and my friend Jono were toying with the idea. We were thinking ping pong balls through through to bb pellets. But the fact of the matter is that space is limited and also whether or not it would be able to still be functional.

Thanks guys for all the great comments too. I have been finalising the computer design of the rear side at the moment although was unable to get it cut as the new perspex hasnt arrived yet.

Thought nothing was going to be mounted in the turret ?

Which would leave enough space for a firing mechanism :p

    UPDATE 12th May

Well for the past few days I have been busy, I cut out the opposite side panel using the same parts from the original designs. At the same time I managed to save myself a number of sheets of perspex by arranging the parts carefully on to sheets. I went from 9 sheets down to just 2 and a half. Which really saves on the wallet side of things. With my new method of arranging parts I have been pouring them out of my machine.

Lots of my time has been going on filing the parts so that they all slot together nicely, for some reason on the second side it has needed filing. I think it may be down to some of my vertical parts where cut out of slighlty larger sheets of perspex. Only by 0.1mm or 0.2mm, all the same it adds time to the process. Alot of the time having this effect

After lots of blood and sweat heres the new side up against the other. You may notice that that on one of the sides has an extension, this is part of the front section that I will be working on shortly.

These next few pictures are of the panels as they will be when complete. I think they also add a scale to this project for those who had a little trouble imaginning just how big I am talking.

It may appear a little wobbly in how its all balance although you have to remember that two of the sides arnt in play yet which will add to the stability of the structure. Also the outer panels will serve as a secondary reinforcement that will hold things together.

I have been spending some time working on the rear panel of the main body. Due to being an all perspex affair I had to make the clamp on my cnc machine larger than the A4 that I have been using for my other parts.

This morning I was at this stage

and now as I am typing this, can anyone guess what part that is on the right?

Anyway I have some more filing to get back to

Thanks for reading, will be back soon with some pictures of the rear and how its turning out

Nice work there. And that bit on the right looks a lot like an I/O panel for your mainboard.

I read your Custom CNC log a while ago and must applaud you on the result, it looks really good and seems to work very well. I was looking into building my own but lost the links I had collected when my mobo died :(.

An amazing idea for a mod, and you built your own CNC machine. I'm impressed on a number of levels. Cannot wait to see this as it evolves.

    Update May 15th

Well, I mentioned in my last update that I was working on the rear section. Well Now I am going to say that I am working on the front section.

This was the left over of the cuts on the larger sheet of perspex.

The entire rear section has taken a while to clear up and assemble. There has been alot of filing.

Look carefully and you will notice that some of the attachments holding the motherboard panel on arnt completely in line, still nothing a quick file wont fix. It will all get better once its glued solid.

I set it all up to show you where it all lies, oh and it is upside down.

The motherboard panel is in the next few pictures so you can see through the madness that goes through my mind.

    So its coming along,

Just had a delivery and got these,

The glue for bonding the perspex together and some m4 rods. You should see the warning label on the back, he he

The rods are going to be cut down alot but they are going to be used as the securing rods for all the tracks.

    Thats all for now,

Thanks for all the great comments, they are keeping me going

Sorry for the delay for some reason I was not able to post the update till today, naughty bit tech forum
