Well this PC is premoting ATI, AMD, Shuttle, and myself.
All the parties involved are included in the title, and on the case.
I do it on my other projects also, so I guess it's self-premotion too.
But this has been discussed in the old thread, so lets keep to the project only please.

I have thought about that many times, but I don't always have a presentable room (Or myself)

Well bravo for attempting to make a Shuttle G4 look nice which I was beginning to think impossible. The custom connectors are a nice idea if not confusing the general end user, but as this is a demo box looks take priority I guess.

I'll be interested to see how you tackle the cable tidying in the Shuttle, as any shuttle owners know its a hell of a task (and one of the most time consuming), and with such large windows the cables are going to be very visible. Good luck dude.

Nice idea Zap, not as good as your prevous work, but then again; you are working to spec and we haven't seen the final product! ;)

One question I do have; why on earth are ATI not giving you a R4xx Series card for it?

Aplogies if you have answered this before...

I have seen quite a few others with Athlon64 Shuttles and 9800's so I am not worried about the PSU.

As currently the 9800XT is what is being premoted the most.
If they have a new card they want to premote later, I can mod and install it.

Remember this is their project, I don't get to keep the PC when done.

How about some images of the prototyping for the Athlon 64 Show piece that will be in the top window:

Four of these 3mm LEDs are very bright.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

The effect that will come out from under the pins perfectly matches my plans.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also the "AMD Athlon 64" Logo will be lit up using LEDs of different colors.

So im guessing that the Athlon Logo and the fried Athlon 64 will be attached to a piece of Lexan somehow? Then Mounted so that it can be seen threw the top window of the case with the LEDS mounted under it so give the glow affect.

Nice lookin job you have going there! :D Do you have any concerns over the red, orange and green LEDs interacting with each other and creating unpleasent color effects inside the case? Or are you planning on blocking the lights from each other? Awesome project so far btw :) How much better is that mouse from an MX300, and would it be worth it for me to upgrade to the MX510?

I believe I've seen them at Home Depot. Worst case I know they have aluminum tubes about that thickness with the sheet metal that could be cut down to make whatever height you wanted.

As for the case, still looking killer. Any chance you can post circuit diagrams once you have them worked out, Zap?

It's looking pretty good so far.

What are you constructing the saw blade out of? Aluminum?

Also, what did ATI think of all the AMD advertising going on in this case? It almost seems like this case is advertising AMD more than ATI.

P.S., I'd like to remind everone else that this thread is only for project log posts and questions directly about the project, we don't want it chock full of posts that only say things like "this project is amazing". valium and others: you should email ZapWizard any questions you have that aren't realted to the project.
Zap - just trying to keep it how you wanted, if you don't want me to, just tell me. ;)

P.P.S. On a funny note, if you look under Similar threads, this thread is listed as smilar to the "BiT Ugly Babe Thread"! :hehe:

    Two:

    1. Where'd you get that keyswitch? It looks like an actually secure, non-generic key/pin set up sort and I'd love to find a place with more than none in stock :D

    2. You said you were going to have the windows sticking outward from the case to improve airflow then the boltheads would be filled in...

2a. Have you done any tests on how well this will work? I'm interested in the possible silencing possibilities of this.

2b. How are you gonna fill in the bolt heads exactly? Epoxy? JB Weld? Real welding?

    Yes, but probably 1/4" acrylic.

The Green should never mix with the orange or red, the colors will be in totaly different parts of the case.
The mouse is supposed to be faster then a MX300, or MX700, which to me it is, it feels much more precise for snipping in games.

Home depot for all the parts in that image.

For the flame controller probably, but not the security circuit.

Please e-mail me these types of questions to keep on topic.
My e-mail is in my signature.
(In answer Fry's and Goodwill computers)

Yes, the saw blade will be brushed alluminum, possibly anodized also.
As for the AMD badging, this PC is being funded by both ATI and AMD, so each gets branding on it. (Along with shuttle too)

    1: www.digikey.com
2a: Not yet as I just got the bolts.
    2b: JB Weld is correct.
