Hey all, I'm wanting to buy a 24" monitor (doen't matter if its 23" btw). I dont really want to go over £200, yet if theres something thats just so much better for like £210 I wont lose sleep over it. Now from Scan, ebuyer and everyones favourite overclockers uk I've looked at a fair few, which is the best buy?.

    Acer V233Hb £125

    Acer X233HBD £139

    Viewsonic £143

    BenQ G2410HD £153.24

    Dell S2309W £169

    Acer V243HBD £172

    Iliyama Prolite £177

    Asus VH242H £178

Dell S2409W £182 - Personally I think this is best buy.

    LG W2453TQ £184

    Hanns. G HH25QH £186

    Cheers.

Dell, LG, BenQ are best brands, heard very good things about Iliyama, Hanns make some decent cheapo monitors, Viewsonic is unknown to me although I've heard them several times and Acer.... I don't think their monitors are good but I dunno

Picking a monitor is easy, pick the best contrast ratio, native resolution and lowest response time, read some reviews about colour representation etc... and check for things like backlight bleed

I've just ordered the Dell SP2309W from ebuyer for £212, so i'll be able to give some feedback on that when it arrives. it is a bit over £200 but has a nicer stand and inbuilt webcam, microphones and usb hub, so might be worth it.

Other than that, I've found my LG screens to be the better ones on the whole... the Dell is supposed to be very good too.

:p What do you think mate?

"Try a used Dell2408WFP from ebay for 300? " - awesome monitor but with buying a full new gaming rig as it is.. my bank account can only really stretch £200 :)

I LOVE the Dell S2209W. Nice, responsive, and with a little tweaking (read: Lagom LCD tests), pretty darn nice to look at. The 2409W should be the same I imagine

Just got my dell SP2309W... have to say i'm impressed. Haven't seen the small backlight bleed i was expecting, and it is just such a nice screen. Very crisp thanks to the 2048x1152 resolution.
The only downside is that it's glossy, but i can live with that :)

No issues apart from the fact it did not come with a DVI cable (only vga) so you will need your own dvi cable.

Yea, but one should never use VGA where DVI is possible.

Not sure what the difference is from a 2410HD, but you can get a Benq 2411HDA from Amazon for 140.

What about the Iiyama? VGA, DVI and HDMI. Surely it will come with either dvi or hdmi cables?
