I'd give my left testicle for a new mobo/cpu/ram combo

been stuck with a q9450/780i combo for the past 5 years.

 

^in the same boat my cpu is old which requires a whole new pc apart from the graphics card which isn't too bad, but..

1 tb hd would be nice my c drive and external are full.

An ssd also never had one.

 

^^ +1 to that, or any part of it, TBH.
My CPU is still a Core 2 Duo E6600 (you better believe it going on 9 years old now), and just about everything in my PC is starting to make weird sounds.

In short, any part of an upgrade would be a part more than I have.

 

Any GPU I can slap into my server to get it folding again.

I had a crummy quadro 600 (on errrm loan from work) but I had a PSU go in a bad way and it took the job lot out. Managed to scavenge bits to get it going again but still GPU less......

I can promise oh TheGreatSatan, this poor soul will fold 24/7 for the cause.

haha looks like we are all in the same boat! my rig is below and to update one thing I'd have to update it Mobo, Proc and Ram. Never made the switch due to lack of funds. My Gfx and power supply are fine I guess.

Only other thing would be my 8 year old Dell 2407WFP monitor

 

I need a copy of Win 7 pro so that my computer will actually USE both the physical CPUs it has.

Also 3x3TB drives so I can finally get the new fileserver running.

 

a GTX 760 or 290x. My 6950's fans click and I can't fix / replace them. Aftermarket coolers are far too expensive. Maybe an Asus xonar DG for the built in headphone amp.

I'd also accept a job so that I can just work to afford these things.

Qpad 90's. My headset is dying.

 

A SSD would be great for the family PC, give it a new lease of life.

 

I need a new headset, my adorable children have taken it upon themselves to destroy as many peripherals as they can. So far they have chalked up:

1 Keyboard
2 Mice
2 Headsets

Failing that, I could always just get them a PC of their own so they don't break mine!

 

My current Sennheiser PC350's are falling apart around the earcups, but I hate to change them since the sound is just so damn good.

On top of that, I am hoping to get my hands on the Corsaid 250D case for a small media hub for the house... well, that or a mini-monster build

 

A 250ish gig SSD would be top of my list right now and has been for ages, just can't find the spare pennies!

 

Trust me they are awesome

 

In order of how broken/in need of replacement it is

New headphones, Headset or speakers
Mousemat
More HDD space


These are more 'could do with' rather out and out 'need' but:

Mouse
Joystick
New CPU [and resulting new Mobo/RAM]
New GPU

 

a 7770 for my HTPC
256gb ssd for the HTPC as well
and some speakers for when it isn't connected to the tv ^_^


just WHERE DO you get your disposable income to buy bit-tech such goodies anyway ?

well as someone who's still rocking an e6500 with a 275gt , 4gb ddr2 ram and still playing (whenever there's time ).
i really don't know what i should replace first lol been thinking about it but car/pet troubles have thrown that into the back burner
I think i would start with the hdd my old wd green it's starting to show it's age lol.
as peripherals go , my old and trusty mx518 is still has new and the keyboard well that's another story since my room-mate broke my logitech I've been using and old black compaq keyboard and it's enough lool

 

There's nothing I urgently need right now, but with free HD space hovering around 50GB right now the upgrade I'm looking most at is a new HD and/or SSD. Other than than I should someday really replace my CPU cooler, since the current one is horribly noisy (Coolermaster TX3). Should have got something better from the start instead of trying to save money... :/
