I remember Webber complaining/moaning an awful lot. I'm no fan of either Vettel or lewis, but they are/were both much superior to their respective team-mates. Rosberg and Webber should count themselves fortunate to be grandfathered into highly successful teams, otherwise they would of gone on to be remembered along with the rest of the mid-table drivers.
Agree on both Webber and Nico if the field was closer Nico would be like Webber 3rd or 4th in championship. Webber first season pushed Vettel so hard Nico did similar. Second season onwards they have both struggled. Personally think as long as they win both championships they will keep him on.
Let's be fair, Mercedes' team strategy has not been the best this year. Ferrari's has been near impeccable, which is one of the reasons they are 'challenging' far more than last year. If Merc can get their two driver's singing off the same hymnsheet, we might be in for an even more dominant performance from them next year, with Rosberg and Hamilton actually racing again, like they did last year.
I wouldn't bet on it, very few racing drivers lose graciously. I seem to remember both Vettel and Hamilton becoming extremely whiney little scrotes when things weren't going their way. Particularly Hamilton in 2011 when Button out performed him. Verstappen's still in that do no wrong everything is awesome phase, give it another season or two and we'll find out what he's really like.
We've already heard Verstappen whining on team radio - I can imagine him being a proper little princess when things go wrong. Just because he's a rising star doesn't mean he can't be a brat.
Verstappen would be deserving of a drive in a top team. Still not sure where these reports come from though. If Nico was on Hamiltons pay I could understand the sentiment that he's not delivering enough. Still think his most likely destination is Ferrari as part of a engine deal to replace kimi.
Isn't everyone being a bit hasty with Verstappen? Look at Magnussen's first season at McLaren, now where is he?
Despite a few retirements, on the whole Verstappen's had a better rookie year than KMag... IIRC Kmag wasn't even remotely close to matching Button for most of the year. It was the same when Kovalainen partnered Hamilton in 08/09, not even close. Yes there may be an element of beginner's luck to Verstappen's year, but there is a feeling that if shoved in a decent car, he could and would take the fight to someone like Hamilton. KMag just didn't give that impression.
Watching FP1 on a live stream, Track looks good. Merc having break temp issues by the looks of Rosbergs having a fiery moment. Sam
Get a more respective order in practice 2 Id guess. Do not expect either Mclaren to finish in all honesty.
Now, was that and old engine or one of the 2[!... show how little faith they have in them...] new ones they brought for Button...
i still think they should just remove the engine, and make a cut out in the bottom of JB's car so he can race fred flintstone style... it must be a crap feeling, knowing the cars are slower than the busses used to get them to the track ^_^
Yeah, kind of screws up my potential career move as well. From what I gather its been brewing for a while now its a massive shame. Just hoping Fitzpatrick keeps them afloat the still have a lot of money, the Engine an tech sharing deals have been signed.
