Modding The Bit-Tech Sleeving Thread

Well we need one to share our pictures and discuss our sleeving addiction.

I literally just finished my first ever sleeving

I am slightly concerned about the shrink curling up at the ends, don't know if I applied too much heat or too little...





These are for my Obsidian build that I started today.

 

It's from too much heat.

I like the sleeving Frys Electronics has.

 

They don't look too bad, it's certainly not awful. Mine have a tendency to do that and I just rip the heatshrink off and start again.

 

I don't mind a little extra curl if it's on parts that are hardly visible (or completely hidden). I use a lighter, so extra heat is pretty much a given.

 

mine did that too. i guess i shouldnt put the heatgun on the highest setting.

 

This is AC ryan sleeving. The smallest sleeve in the kit. I used my shrinktube because the supplied one wasnt getting small enough.

Here's my attempt from about a year ago:



That's the ACRyan sleeving kit. It's not too bad, but the cables show pretty well through it.

 

I have some stuff with Techflex on it, cables are pretty visible. I have only done a 24 pin and 8 pin (alternating white/black, white sleeving with black shrink and black sleeving with white shrink alternating) and colours are REALLY obvious.

 

The Sun is hiding away behind clouds so thats it for now .

 

Bentleya what camera/lens are you using? Those closups are incredible!

 

Canon 450D, with Tamron 90mm Macro 2.8. Just a white A3 paper background, and sunlight.

 

Those really are some fantastic shots.

 

could i get this one in full size?

@talladega - My spelling sucks , for a bigger image, i can't do it sorry, as it is such a tight crop already. The image quality would be rubbish.

 

Aw, i was going to ask for a larger image as well, these are great shots. nylon sleeve porn. lol.

 

I'm working on some more, i just need to have the sun in the right place, with certain strength.

But i will post up more once i have taken them .

 

So i need a macro lens...
