Surely you could look up the specs of the PSU you're eyeing, get the wire lengths and do the math?
Most SATA cables come in lengths between 1-2 feet.

For single wire psu sleeving or 3 pin fans, you want 1/8 inch sleeving. For the heatshrink, you can use 1/4 in.

At last, someone else who makes their own! Thought I was the only one who did this tbh  Where'd you get your pins and crimper mate? The pins I get are a brassy colour, yours are nicer. And your crimper has a ratchet mechanism, mine doesn't :/

He isn't the only one

Link for pretty pins and nice crimper here. If you buy the crimper you get 60 fan pins, 50 ATX male and 50 ATX female pins with it. I think that's nice value for hard-to-find stuff (at least in my part of the world).

Ah another one! We're cropping up all over the place ;)

Thanks for the link. I now feel really stupid. That should've been the first place for me to look, not molex.com :duh: I guess I need to spend some more time drooling browsing over at MDPC :thumb:

    I hate you guys.

Summer project appears to be materializing as rewiring this entire PSU, which will no doubt cost me a ridiculous amount of money. You *******s.

€100 is roughly what it cost me.

More than worth it for the fantastic end result if you have the patience to do it right.

    sata power cable?

    question:

are the pins in a modular psu connectors (the side that go into the psu) the same as regular pins? I have a Coolermaster M1000 and I want to re-build and sleeve the sata power cable. On that note does anyone know where I can get the wire for this? thanks!
