I did actually call my brother yesterday. As long as Serco can show they took reasonable steps to inform everyone it happened afterwards and that it was an accident, the fine (if any) will be minimal. Bonus points for implementing countermeasures.

I'd like to see how they go about this exactly. Who hasn't ever accidentally hit 'reply all' once in their lives?

Is there any chance folk could just be sensible? Sure come to the beach, where there should be plenty of scope for social distance, you don't really need to sit just 2.00m away from someone else when there is plenty of space. Heard some rule twit on radio 4 saying the beach should be for locals only and the needed to "just keep the emmets out, we don't have the virus down here". Does he think we should have gunboats on the Tamar too?

The problem is: they can't, and therefore there isn't.

That's the thing, in their own minds they are being sensible.

    ^This

There's plenty of people acting as though everything's fine as they're 'staying alert'. Trouble is there are crowds of people thinking the same way.

Only a lunatic would go to Durdle Door on a sunny day, let alone during a pandemic.

Their behaviour is disappointing, but not surprising.

I guess with my shift I'd normally be underground at 2000 (trying as much as possible to avoid a general public who aren't even making a token attempt at distancing), so that's the first time I've experienced the full grunt of 'clap for carers'.
    Intensely and viscerally disturbing.

Apparently the inland beach at Sandbacks was ((unsurprisingly) packed with hordes of people allegedly socially distancing by the sea...

Went to the chemist earlier. Didn't really want to, but they were supposed to deliver two days ago and I wasn't here so I didn't want to annoy them. Any way, got there and found the line. Every one was at least 3m apart, which was nice. I had a mask on.

Two places in front of me is a blind guy with a white stick. A blind guy who was clearly a "non believer" saying that "I don't like doing this but I know some people get touchy". Eh? you're bloody blind what difference would it make?

Is this a real thing and/or public info? Interested to read it but it is rather long! Assuming it isn't just the same immaterial waffle that gets rolled out on TV, of course.

    - us
    - the idiots over the water
    - those of us that follow the idiots over the water as behavioural examples
    - various sub-species below even that

I think you'll find many soldiers not on the drug had those symptoms after serving somewhere "exotic".

To be fair, it does look like each 'bubble' is 2m+ apart (not that distancing is actually law anyway). Then keep in mind the heat and UV. It seems safer than shopping on a frosty day.

Of course, as you say, visiting a loved one who's been inside for 2 months or just sitting in their garden is the safest thing of all... and the only thing that remains banned.
