If you do not learn from your mistakes, you're destined to repeat them.

No, not that - Boris will think the mistake last lockdown was that it went on too long, didn't use the NHS space, and he stopped people going to work. So if he's being told he needs a month of lockdown, he's going to say 2-3 weeks but people still have to go to work, school and uni. So no lockdown.

Somebody, please fkg explain to me why schools etc are still going to be open. Please.

And it has to be logical or I'll just discount it and perhaps for the first time in my life, start an angry internet fight that will probably see me moderated.

Because BoZo and the ring of corruption he has built around himself, are spineless, self-serving c*nts.

Boris identifies really well with parents who don't want to see their kids.

    Money.

They want people to stay home, but they don't want to pay the costs of people staying home.

Like everything else - 'We will do whatever it takes... except put hand to wallet'.

I have kids in years 2, 5 and 8. We can cope perfectly well with them being at home, but I'd rather they got some schooling.

Down here in Cornwall there is a bit of a feeling that we are getting locked down because of problems elsewhere.

I get annoyed when people ask for a national lockdown ".. because it's easier to explain".

Thinking like that is ****ing stupid. Not to mention selfish beyond measure.

That kind of "We're alright, why should we take precautions" is exactly how this spreads so rapidly.

If every single person on the planet would have just worn masks, and been considerate of how precarious this situation is, it wouldn't be as bad as it is now.

But no. There are selfish, stupid, assholes being argumentative pricks about safety precautions intended to kill as few people as possible.

Should schools close? Absolutely. Children are Petri dishes given human form.

Should people stay the **** at home unless getting supplies? Also abso-****ing-lutely.

Should the government have a better plan than letting the wafty haired toff meander around spouting stupid **** like he has done his entire career? Yeah. Yeah they bloody well should.

In light of them not, though, it falls to the citizens to engage the brain and maybe less of a selfish jackass. But of course they don't until a member of their near and dear circle drowns in their own blood, because they're such self absorbed pricks that they don't realise how ****ing stupid they are.

If you've finished **ing perhaps it's worth thinking.

Do we shut down the economy down here where this a low rate of infection because folk 300 miles away are being idiots? https://www.iambirmingham.co.uk/2020/10/30/police-shut-birmingham-shisha-lounge-days-fined-10000/

Can we really afford to damage children's education again only for them to be paying the bill for rest of our lives for older folks furlough payments?

If Cornwall actually gets a high infection rate next year to we tell people in Liverpool to shutter their business and send the staff home?

"won't someone think of the children" is a really tired excuse for being a selfish ****wit.

People are too blindingly stupid to not travel to places that are risk areas if their area isn't - Just the other week I was filling in for someone who was fired because they went to a hot spot and refused to get a test, as mandated by their employer.

This virus spreads fast. It spreads because people don't know they have it. Because they go places not knowing they have it.

That, and a lack of personal responsibility is why it's still a big deal.

You're posting as if no one does anything wrong in Cornwall, but it's not hard to find people being stupid at the height of the first wave in Cornwall. Just because you are okay, just because you think you're taking the right precautions does not mean that everyone else is, has, or would.

If you don't think remote learning and sacrificing the economy to not kill people is worth it, I'm not sure what to say.

Any chance you could post with less ***ing. Putting stars in gets you past the forum censor but still make you look like a sweary ********************.
