In a shocker, Boris' conference is starting later than it should've done and long after everyone saw what was going to happen anyway.
Well, I don't actually put the asterisks in. The forum does that automatically. And if I come across as a sweary **** then that's because I am one. Incandescent with rage that someone who, ostensibly, is allowed to produce children can be such a callous ******* as to think that they shouldn't be impacted in a global pandemic because their circle of friends and acquaintances are what.. Invulnerable? Not at risk? Sick of having work and school restricted? And before you mouth off about "All of Cornwall thinks like this", I sincerely doubt you were selected as the sole mouth piece of half a million, or so, people living in Cornwall. And if they do and indeed did select you to be their representative, then frankly I'm not that fussed if you wall yourselves off from the world and see what happens when you're all drowning in your own blood. I haven't really been anywhere since mid-March, and anywhere I have been has been at great distance and masked up, in a cloud of disinfectant. Am I at risk? Not really. I'm carrying a little extra weight than perhaps I should, I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't wheeze if I run up and down stairs, I'm alright. Girlfriend is about the same. We could have carried on, could have put ourselves ahead of others who might be at risk, but no. We did, and still are doing, the responsible adult thing, and avoiding risk situations. Yeah, we don't have kids, so we're spared that remote learning situation, but frankly if you aren't prepared to deal with kids 24/7 I'm confused as to why you had any to start with. Anyway, got any responses that aren't about the amount of asterisks? Because so far you're coming across as selfish and trying to argue a point that has the same number of legs as a double amputee.
All the Tesco delivery slots getting gobbled up, but I'm not pushing the hoard button yet as Iceland are completely free and not running out of toilet roll yet.
£12 billion wasted on private firms useless track and trace and yet another delay to action. Seriously, the economy would be hit less hard and the lockdown would be shorter if done earlier and there was a working track, trace and quarantine system. Well, that's how it's been in some other countries. But no, let's squander money on Ministers chums companies and faff about.
Also whatever happened to that spokesperson they hired for him so he doesn't have to talk to people? Should we be looking for a double wide fridge?
I can only guess Boris and Cummings are having one of those sessions where it just doesn't end, but you want to keep trying because you're almost there, but eventually at some point after all the sweating you have to call it a draw. You know what I mean.
Leak says ban on outbound travel (as in we'll do nothing if you get trapped in a foreign lockdown). As for inbound travel, come one come all, don't get tested and feel free to lick grandma.
Am I cynical for thinking this is less about public health and more about getting the numbers down before the annual celebration of consumerism?
Makes no difference to me, I'll still be working, still unable to use my holiday leave, carry on carrying on.
