Makes no difference to me, I'll still be unable to do the day job, still unable to get any form of help from the govt. Like Brexit, I'm screwed whatever happens so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
HMG: It's all students' fault cases have been spiking... ...that's why we're keeping schools and unis open. Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date
Good old Boris evolving his 'stay at home go to work don't go to work' bit. "Stay at home... but now I'll list all the things you can leave home for" *Gets out small piece of paper, which then comedically unfolds down to the floor to reveal it is in fact a very long list, ho ho!*
Well it's all about the numbers and yes as I said earlier it is about getting the numbers down so you can infect your family and friends this Christmas. It's dumb. Better say now that you shouldn't travel to other regions to see family this Christmas, but relax the rule of six for those closer. Hell we could go to 15 here for dinner without anyone going up the lane. Anyway expect the papers are ready for their stories of last night of something parties this Wednesday. I haven't been out for a drink since March or before. Just work.
Good to see England catching up to reality. I mean... it's about a month too late, but better late than never eh? Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date Remind me why the **** we piss so much Welsh money away in England when we get absolutely **** all benefit from it...?
Eh? The UK economy is geared around London and the South East of England, all other regions receive more money than they pay in taxes.
Meanwhile, I'll be back at work in Birmingham QE Hospital on Monday, saying to myself: Business as usual, basically. Oh, and #shockednotshocked: Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date
Yeah don't get me started on that one, I'm still pissed at people for that... Department for Transport figures show that HS2 will cost the Welsh government £200 million a year. HS2 routes won't go to Wales, so... what are we paying for?
So what happens when it turns out telling everyone to carry on as normal but sticking "stay at home" over it doesn't help? I'm guessing since it's conveniently Christmas anyway he'll announce an 'extended Christmas holiday!' lockdown with schools and work closed for a while (which they mostly would've been anyway...) and no mixing except 23rd - 27th Dec. At least that's what I would do if I was a filthy politician.
Tying to work out whether we are "Required to shut" or not. Do I have a takeaway or a non-essential shop?
Don't envy you at all. This lockdown so late in the day really is stuffing up business, especially those snowed under for prepping for Jan 1st. Maybe that's the idea, drag it out until closer or including the 1st Jan and they can blame all problems to do with everything on covid.
Stay open by moving your business up to the roof, then claim you are a roofing contractor and allowed to work due to that (and the customers are your unpaid interns buying lunch). Stupid jokes aside... Given your line of business wouldn't you be suffering this time of the year anyway due to seasonal effects? (can't imagine many tourists stopping by in your neck of the woods in November). So on that basis close and milk the gov support would be the more attractive option?
