Nearly a year into the global coronavirus pandemic, scientists, doctors and patients are beginning to unlock a puzzling phenomenon: For many patients, including young ones who never required hospitalization, Covid-19 has a devastating second act. https://www.wsj.com/articles/doctor...ZMRXNJgCu6Vk16Bsdszj1c10I5YyaiO5m6gILa32ebx5M
Meanwhile in sensible Germany.... Police used water cannon to break up protests by coronavirus sceptics in Berlin on Wednesday. Thousands of demonstrators gathered at the city’s Brandenburg Gate to protest against a new law on measures to contain the pandemic. The protest was allowed to go ahead at first but police ordered demonstrators to disperse after many in the crowed ignored social distancing rules and refused to wear facemasks.
Oh. Erm.... Scary, if a reputable source with sound evidence (it's Mr H so I assume due diligence has been performed).
Well, the paper is not peer rreviewed (yet) but it is from University College London and the methodology is nicely laid out at the end, so yeah, interesting/scary stuff.
The most frustrating thing about all of this is that there are conspiracy theorists out there who don't believe that COVID is actually a real thing - sadly, some of my friends on Facebook fall into that category. So if 2020 wasn't bad enough, we have the protracted symptoms of "long" COVID to keep us busy in 2021.
Take it as an excuse to have a spring clean and delete everyone that shouldn't be on your friend list in the first place.
Next year may turn into a major fight with the anti-vax nonsense. There's some good research from The Welcome Trust. Surprisingly anti-vax sentiment seems scattered around the world. In Bangladesh people have great confidence, in France and Ukraine and Japan they are rather negative. Have a skim of the full report if you are interested, there's some good data in there.
I could offer you a plausible explanation for why this would be the case. MSM describes a reality that doesn't jive with their reality, with their experience. I.e. they've had no family members perish from the virus, they've had no friends perish from the virus, they have no friends who have friends who perished from the virus, they have no co-workers who have perished from the virus etc. Feel free to scale this up and down. Disclaimer. I'm not suggesting the C-virus doesn't exist.
