Just read that. Reassuring to know. Because a virologist (also on Twitter) expressed his concern about this strategy.
If I was Pfizer I'd be suspending all supply of the vaccine to the UK immediately, loudly proclaiming why on every social media and press release possible. Allowing someone to go outside the tested parameters for use and doing nothing opens up so many liability issues if the vaccine fails it's not funny. You can bet that if something awful does happen Boris and co will loudly proclaim that Pfizer never said they couldn't.
Legal immunity's usually only as good as the lawmakers who granted it. Given who granted it I wouldn't want to see it challenged in court. Then there's the inevitable smear campaign that Boris and chums would launch if the vaccine didn't work thanks to their bright ideas. No amount of legal immunity can protect your employees from that random Mail reading nutter with a sharp object.
I know what you mean. Been there at a company I used to work at - had to get extra guards on all entrances etc.. Right! Let's put a positive spin on this year! We're less than 24h in and it's looking bleak. Someone be positive about something!
Something along the lines of Dirty Germ Men -- If the Pfizer vaccine has issues Septic Yanks -- If there's problems with the Moderna one EU Remoaners sabotaged our vaccine, we were right to Brexit -- If there's problems with the Oxford/AZ one [not that they're predictable or anything] Or if they can't fault an individual one, the ol' standby of COVID vaccine gives you cancer.
That's really unlikely to open liability for vaccine developers. It's not their fault if a government chooses not to read the instructions.
To be fair, the tweet/thread i shared was about an increased interval between two doses of the same vaccine. I've seen mention elsewhere since about HMG proposing both increasing the interval and mixing vaccines, and i think that's what you were referring to.
This could help with solving the overpopulation over time. https://www.local10.com/news/local/...ffects-of-covid-19-vaccine-on-male-fertility/ If this is a positive or a negative I let you decide.
Look at the recruitment page for the trial... https://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04665258 A sample size of 60 doesn't exactly inspire confidence, also the study hasn't actually been done yet, so there is that.
The study started two weeks ago and is due to run until June. They run case studies on new drugs for umpteen things, but two weeks into one random study and OMG! it's a population control conspiracy!!11one
Personally I'm now waiting for the UK to propose vaccinating people with homeopathic solutions of saline in which the Union Flag has been dipped. While "Jerusalem" by Sir Hubert Parry is playing in the background.
Well, I did say "positivity" but having woken up to the usual brand of bit sarcasm that puts the world into perspective, that'll do. The hearty chuckles I just did will serve as proof. One question though - with everything else that's going on, who came up with "thanks for the use of the ventilator, can you just have a quick look at my nuts?" as an exit poll from the hospital?
Perhaps including the occasional emoticon wouldn't be such a bad idea after all. Mind your crown jewels, felllas.
Ha! Definitely. When the world's press fails us, we can band together to make sense of things I sometimes wonder if we could form a bit-tech political party and have some degree of success in comparison...
As long as FPTP exists it is easier to get rich and bribe one of the two big parties than getting into Parliament as a 3rd Party.
