I feel like he has an internal competition to say the dumbest thing that week, he was close to not beating out the Vegas woman.

Bet that's a sigh of relief on his part. Surely no one else can say anything dumber than that this week.

Yes, until those 11 million people actually die. Either way people freak out now, or freak out later. But they will freak.

I didn't bring up 'panic', BTW. You did.

Trump, when dumb thinks it's smart. Dangerous.

I notice the BBC showed a bit of Trump, but only about him saying how well Johnson sounded.

I also heard Hancock this morning saying they've been able to ramp up testing capabilities because the demand has been less than expected. Taking that line then, I mean come on give me strength.

Capability also does not mean actuality. Currently we're only testing around 20k when there's 'capability' to do more.

Can we try feeding Trump the disinfectant to see if it works?

Source paper is here. Looks like the press release oversimplified: What they found was that the (continuously and rapidly mutating) virus had one variant that did not significantly spread geographically before mutating further. Because mutation rate is not rigidly linked to time (i.e. it could remain stable for days while spreading, or multiple mutations could occur and be present in and spread by one host) there is no way to conclude whether this is some 'weaker' variant infecting a specific vulnerable group, or a concentrated infection event that is temporally and geographically separated enough that it did not have the chance to spread before further mutations occurred, or simply that no infections of that strain outside China had been recorded and entered into the database (sampling that undergoes analysis is a small subset of total testing, which itself is a small subset of actual infections). Very close (single nucleotide) mutations of that strain have been detected in both US and European samples.

He clearly attempts self UV-C sterilisation on a regular basis.

Something we have to be particularly wary of, particularly at this time.

As alcohol is used for sterilisation, I suggest everyone just gets absolutely thoroughly stonkingly pissed. For medical purposes.

Alongside the evidence that smokers are less at risk, this is shaping up to be a good weekend!

My friend down the road has misinterpreted the 60% alcohol content requirement in hand sanitiser to suggest that his blood alcohol level needs to be as suggested above by edz.

I have seen his photos of the beer deliveries to support his assertion!

And before you ask 'how can people believe that ****?'

...well those would be the same people that believe vaccines cause autism and believe giving their kids a bleach enema or straight up feeding them bleach will cure it.

Watching BBC news, they did a story about deaths and serious cases for black and other ethnic groups or why the majority of "healthcare workers" are from these backgrounds. The quite short piece was done in a VERY dangerous and provocative nature, with extremely short cuts of interviews basically making out that black and ehthnic people are being used as human sheilds.

What they're talking about is how people of ethnic backgrounds account for the "most" deaths in "health workers" and a third of critically ill patients. So the actual story is that people from an ethnic background MAY have a genetic predisposition to be seriously affected by covid and how the "health services" have a larger proportion of people from an ethnic background than in the general population. But that's not sensationalist enough, that's not going to create review committees for people to sit on and earn a fat wage for a year or 5. Why use statistics to find real answers when you can pluck individual ones out that suit and support your agenda.

If your BAC is at 60%, don’t worry too much about Covid-19 because you’re long dead. ^.^
