You cannot implement and enforce a moderator policy without an understanding of what is acceptable and what is unacceptable and therefore WHAT REQUIRES MODERATING in the first place.

Once again, I do not wish to see the above mentioned thread closed, as it is full of win, nor do I wish the mods in question to stop taking part in the thread, what I would like is an explanation as to how it is any different/more valuable to community life than any of those recently closed.
