Just thought id post an image of a fun project me and a few friends are doing entitled "the death fan 1000" : lol, hopefully post some more pics soon.
In total honesty its a lot quieter than my delta "screamer!" on my cpu. I think that fan was actually quite expensive, but we ripped it up anyway! On a different note, does anyone know if maplin still do the cold cathode lights, there web page says they're discontinued. just wonderin if thats just for online :S Cheers
um dude if im not mistaken thats a conventional house-hold fan correct? yea uhh, those things produce mad electro-magnetic fields post pics of your blue screens! (if u get that far)
hehehe, will do mate.... we're only using old components in it anyways. and it keeps u cool in hot weather, lol
http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6697 You can only get 'em in stores yes, cos of the number of breakages.
LOL! That fan cools you off for a different reason than computer fans cool your computer off. It cools you off because of your perspiration and natural skin moisture. It cools off your computer through a process called forced convection. Big difference. But judging by the sheer mass of the thing (and hoping you have a filter so it doesn't suck in your cat), I think it will do fine to push cool air in. Who knows, might even be better for computer cooling then cooling people =). AstrumProelaitor "Ahem... Your stepping on my cyber foot."
Unfortunately i didn't read the post quick enough, the cat lived a happy life though... lol, yeah you're right bout the maplin cold cathodes too thx for the info Anyone ever tried some kinda of freezer based case? lol
ive heard of them i think they called it "active refridguration" (excuse my spelling) but yeah, i think just about everything has been done at least once before.
I've known people to put their PC's in a spare fridge. It's annoying always opening the door though. Plus routing the cabled through. Anyway, the main problem is condensation. Bad stuff if you like your computer =). AstrumProelaitor "Moo"
