Announced! I can't even say how excited I am. My only hope is that GameBryo wallbash isn't the engine. http://www.joystiq.com/2010/12/11/skyrim-elder-scrolls-5-coming-11-11-11/ Edit: It's not GameBryo! Bethesda's tweet, thanks to GravitySmacked. Also, here's the teaser I posted a few posts down.
now this is exciting! if its anywhere near as ground breaking as oblivion when it came out could easily be another game of the year
Dear Bethesda, please use the Cryengine or something like that, that is actually playable on day one and still looks good on PC. Oh, and please make it modable. Thanks, Gmork PS: Would you mind throwing in a PC optimized inventory and a few more voice actors pretty please? Just take Mass Effect as a guide.
I don't have high regards for it, no doubt it'll be bottlenecked on PC's because of consoles with DX9 graphics and a terrible engine to boot. 2006 was ok for Oblivion to look the way it did on PC, but chances are my pleads will go unheard to appease consoles.
but its not all about the graphics, i still play oblivion and its great. obviously it would be nice to see another big jump forward technologically but personally with something as epic as elder scrolls i play for the love of the stories
Since Bethesda own iD and iD's Tech 5 looks ridiculously scalable for sprawling outdoor environments with megatextures, I'd say it's more likely to use that. I mean, it even plays well on the iPhone by the looks of things. How's that for running on under-powered hardware?
Here's hoping it's more like Morrowind than Oblivion. And doesn't have a crappy auto-levelling system. If it doesn't have one, then I'll be sure to buy it
Yessssss, new engine! Next up on the wish list: more than two voice actors. Oblivion's leveling system was terrible, but that didn't prevent me from having fun with it. I set all my major skills to the ones I never use, then ran around at level 1 and decimated everything.
Agree on that one, They need to get the same feeling of a huge world they had on Morrowind, and not the tiny world of Oblivion. but please, a better interface than in Fallout
Ah thats easy, just take out the fast travel system! It should be more like the system in morrowing where you had to use silt riders or boats to get about (until you made a constant effect levitatin amulet) if you allow the player to warp to almost any point on the map whenever they want it really makes the world feel alot smaller than it is
