Simple, if we accept the Euro we get to stay in Europe and keep recieving the benefits from that (whatever they are). Without the EU, our market would suffer - bigtime; therefore we *will* convert to the Euro. It's inevitable. Anyway I'm off to Canada ASAP so I'll be leaving all this carp behind I couldn't have said that better myself
ok did anyone watch like CNN or whatever it was on NYE 2002. well it was the birth of the euro or whatever and one of the scrolling stories was "cuba are adopting the euro to devalue the american dollar"
yup yup euro puts us closer to one world order.....instead of a bunch of different slime ball governments well only have one!!
Yes, but the problem with that is, which one. I'm not currently impressed with any I've heard even a little about.
Re: Re: The euro If there's truth behind that, then you've got no right to say anything - or vote As far as I'm concerned the twits that are called the government should stop arse kissing and let this country keep its independance and own ways of living To be honest, this country, it's society, it's ways... it's all just a total mess. Have any of you seen the video to george micheals new single, shoot the dog?. Download it, it's soo funny yet soo true. What annoys me is this country is such a mess, and most likely will be made worse via the euro. Look at the UK: So full of refugees we've got no housing left for young mothers? I know a minority of RFUG's are genuine, but most come here knowing we're a soft touch. There's been a long running debate on AOL and most people agree with me. Also, tony blair thinking he's action man and getting involved with the taliban/saddam hussain - HAVEN'T WE GOT ENOUGH PROBLEMS OF OUR OWN?!. Car owners are getting driven off the roads due to stupidly high taxes and stupid congestion tolls. If the politicians don't use public transport because it's so crap, why should we? I don't know wether I want to stay here when I'm older. Gotta go, dinnertime..
Re: Re: Re: The euro That sounds like tabloid rubbish to me. The reason theres a housing crisis is because of increasing demand and decreasing construction! Everyone agrees that more houses are needed, but no-one wants them next door. It was the last government (conservatives) who privatised the rail network, and thats the biggest problem. SOMETHING has to be done to stop everyone trying to drive on the same roads at the same time, unfortunatly the alternative methods of transport are unreliable and expensive.
(sic) There's plenty of room over here. Beautiful countryside, lovely weather, the most beautiful women on the planet and low low LOW taxes. Yeah baby, Texas - God's country.
Lemme get this straight, your going to Canada to escape a troubled money system?... I don't have an opinion of Canadian currency but some of our Canadian brothers seem to... http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13970
thats my point, the middles dont fall out of the 2 pound coins, but ive heard that the middles to fall out of the euro coins
My dad works at the Birmingham IMI mint and they make all the euro coins, etc there. When the £2 coin first came out they had to be recalled. The Euro coins however do not fall apart - none recalled so far
If it aint greenbacks, it aint money. period. well, not to my wife. she worked as a teller at a bank for a few years, cash doesn't mean anything. the debit card is real money. when you've regularly handled upwards of $50,000 in bills each day, 5 bucks doesn't mean much
"ive been sent to spread the message........god bless Texas!" little texas texas is great got quakecon and cpl :dude:
Texas' tourist slogan is "like a whole 'nother country" really it should be "like 10 whole nother countries" El Paso is Mexico, Austin is a wonderful city - the Silicon Valley of the South, there's parts near Austin where German is a spoken language, Houston... well... it's big. East texas is gorgeous and full of wonderful forests (it's also freakin' hot ) West Texas is flat and north Texas... mmm... just right Plenty of tech jobs in DFW, great transport, low crime (in the good parts) great weather (other than the T-storms this morning, but it's already sunny again) I'm confused as to why someone would like to live elsewhere (you can take your fancy-schmancy 'culture' and shove it. we've got beautiful women ) peace, S.
One of the problems here is the classing - it's very dated and irrelevant, and in most cases plain unfair. Oh, and on the subject of classes, I was thinking about celebrities who look down on the general public - what they seem to forget is that it was us that got those ungrateful sods up there, and we can damn well pull them back down again. They should treat us like gods - after all, we gave them what they have..
While this might seem controversial, my personal opinion here is that I strongly disagree. I believe that the class structure is highly relevant, possibly even more so in today's society. IMO the only people that don't believe in the class divide are those who are invariably at the bottom! As for it being unfair, that is just life I'm afraid! But then I am an admitted snob and it is just one point of view.
who's calling who idiots in brussels? That's my capital you're talking about! Grrrrrrrr.... Anyway, the prices have indeed gone up here on the mainland, but I have nothing against the euro. That the prices raise will eventually lead to higher salaris also. And, our economy is based on waves of "low" and "high"-prices, it's mankinds weakness, so it's inevitable that prices go up or down. One could say the euro is a cover-up for the downhill-going economy. edit: that must be the most economical and political thing I have ever sayd in my entire life... scary
