Now they've done some competitive laps on more than one track it looks like its mostly over for the season at both the front and back: F1: Mercs F1.3: Ferrari, McLaren F1.5: Everyone else F1.9: Aston, Cadillac
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/articles/c5ykne3g305o Oh no! Anyway. There will be no F1 in April, it's like going back to the 90s. Aston Martin and Honda breath a sigh of relief, then get back to frantic work on that engine.
Can't make my mind up what I think of the news regs yet. My gut says I don't like seeing cars having to lift on hot laps but then there's always been management of cars to some degree - fuel, tyres, etc. Meh, need more races to decide. If you want a Verstappen fix this weekend though check out NLS2 https://www.youtube.com/@VLNOFFICIAL/streams
Newey to step down as Aston Martin F1 team principal, Wheatley set to join from Audi. I don't think many people had this on their 2026 F1 Bingo card! Will Audi ask Horner to step in? or are his past indiscretions too controversial?
Horner has always made pretty clear that he doesn't just want to be a team principal. He wants some kind of ownership, a la Toto.
I know he's not happy in Switzerland but imo Wheatley would be ****ing mental to leave Audi for Aston and Audi would be mad to let him go... Never mind...
That's a challenge. Resolving another 2016 McLaren scenario, instead of sticking with a company with a proven track record of dominance when they put their mind to it. Brave. Very brave.
If the mercs keep up their failed start streak then Monaco could end up being the most interesting race of the season as they won't be able to regain lost places there
Yes, but hear me out. No trip to Saudi. Now if someone could just plant a bomb in Miami, doesn't have to hurt anyone, just blow up a truck in the stadium car park at night or something.
Now that's just crazy talk. Also tbh the sooner Max announces he's giving up and ****ing off the better. IMO it's *exactly* like that. How about... nothing?
I would miss the hilarity in of his bullshitery, but if he wants to go then stop being a whiny little turd and go, there's plenty of exciting young talent coming through. Hamilton & Alonso I can't see racing after 2027, Hulk, bottas and perez won't be too far behind, it's good to see the grid naturally revolving, rather than just the red Bull escalator of doom. Decent race today, bar that awful shunt. Russell getting a little tetchy already, thinking he's going to be the defacto no1, but antonelli clearly has other ideas. Comedy gold from piastri on the radio after finishing second "turns out when we start these things we're actually pretty good"
Another red bull princess, like Vettel. Looks absolutely imperious when he has the right car under him, but turns into a whiny, stampy-feet little bitch when things go awry.
