The First Double Sided ModArt QUADRAD Custom Case In The World /
With Four Loop ,Four Radiator,Four reservoir,Four Pump.

    Latest situation of the worklog

My friend Levon offered to make a PC Case , that was a little different, big and extremly.

He wanted to make a case with square Outlook(Quadrat)

He wanted to make watercooled case with 4 loops by using 4 rads, 4 pumps ,and 4 reservoir.

For this reason we gave to the case the name QUADRAD .

Our aim was to use this box in the future with different systems

We were going to do it from scratch, not by modifying a standard case.

After some sketches, we decided to make a case like this , with design of Levon.

The frame of the case is designed with a cross-section with 45 degrees broken corners.

Main equipment will be as follows

    Mainboard: Z170A-XPOWER-GAMING-TITANIUM-EDITION

18 x HD120 RGB LED High Performance 120mm PWM Fan with Controller

2 x CORSAIR Lighting Node PRO

    4 x Neutron Series™ XTi 960GB SATA 3 6Gb/s SSD

the front and rear panels and side windows are planned as plain-flap on the plain wings , sides bent 45 degrees outward.
So that 18 cm depth of the normal case , was removed to 30 cm.

We started making a 1/1 carton model , to see what the case would be like in advance.

There are air grids on the flaps and 4 reservoirs on the 4outsides.

When it came out as a case -sized volume, I started to draw vector drawings.
As material came and went between aluminum and sheet metal (steel).
For easy gas welding we used steel.

2 M2 sheets required as material

    1.20mm thickness required for steel.
    and it weights 2X9.00=18.00 Kg
If we have used aluminum sheet . we must use 2.5 -3.0 mm thickness.
And it weights 13.5 -16.5 kg.
when the gaps are dropped , steel case weihts 12.5 kg

A reasonable weight of 12.5 kg when it is thought that a 900D case is 18.6 kg.

During vector drawings, we decided to make the case not from 4 equal parts, 2 smaller equal parts to upper and lower, 2 larger equal parts to front and back.

The case will consist of the 2 top and bottom parts and 2 front and back panels and 1 motherboard back plate.total 5 parts.
Other than the integrated radgrils on the top a ,there are 4 holes 20 mm in diameter.
To easy fill ofthe reservoirs with fluid.

Panels providing cable connections to the case at the corners

    (B) At the top, an ON-OF button with 30 mm diameter and a 22 mm restart button and 2x USB 3.0
    (C) There are also two 5.25 for fan controllers close to the top.
    (D) At the lower part an HDD power on-of switch.
(A)The front and back panels are equally made so that both sides of the case could be used as the front panel. Ther is no backside panel at this case.

To check the size of the sockets, the cable panel was cut from plexi at laser .
    Necessary corrections done

Prepared drawings were cut in CNC metal laser

And bended with a CNC sheet metal bender.

All parts ,cut and bent ,together in bulk.

The parts were assembled for testing purposes.

To prevent the shaking of the case , 2 bended steel pieces ( at Z shape ) added on the floor and ceiling.(marked)

Then they were fixed to the base and ceiling with welder (punctured)

And the MB backplate screwed . This has increased the stability much more.

    Thanks Cheapskate
    Of course it could be a smaler case .But;
1- İt was his owner's choice. And it was enough for me with big case!!! 900D.
2- We need a case for 4 loops with
    4x360 rad
    4x215 reservoir
    4X D5 pump
And a classic for me, waterchanels from plexi

Sorry ,what to do , everyone wants from me a big case …
    I promise you, I will build a supermini case… for you…
    Like this…

I/O panel 90 degrees rotated but not like at RAVEN 01 upwards ,

just the opposite , I/O PANEL placed downwards and in the case.

Not to open the side window every time , to connect cables to the MB , special extension cables used

    Used cables

The sockets will be moved out of the case, into the corners,

    Cables assembled at corners

The cables will be hidden behind the back panel through drilled holes.

    cable pas through holes

    Mounted sockets and cables

The cables were taken from the holes to the rear

To provide motherboard connectivity for these cables, the cable passthrough channels on the rear panel opened.

Reading though the list of cables you used and I noticed that the TOSlink is gold plated. What is the point of a gold plated optical connector?

    Case is looking good.

At other cables are required to prevent oxidation.
But I do not know how effective here at optical cable
It can be also a marketing policy. arg-ist

İnstead of using a standart Modular I/O Panel like this..

    Metal rods were considered

And they are made from brass on the lathe.

The back of the CPU is emptied. With mounting of these bras rods in their place.

The provisional trial board provided the following look

There is free space for a counter nut (red marked )
