    The Fit-PC

Just stumbled across this and was curious if anyone has had a chance to play with one yet.

    Hardware
    CPU: AMD Geode LX800 500MHz
    Chipset: AMD CS5536
Display: Integrated Geode LX display controller up to 1920x1440 !?!?!
    Memory: 256MB DDR 333MHz soldered on-board
    Hard disk: 2.5” IDE 60GB
    Ports
    2 x RJ45 Ethernet ports 100Mbps
    2 x USB 2.0 HiSpeed 480Mbps
    RJ11 RS-232
    VGA DB15

The specs are nothing to write home about... in fact the router I'm using inside PrometheusCU has the same specs - and the 1920x1440 res specs have to be bloated (if not bloated, then simply useless).

Has anyone seen this before? or have anything to say about it?

I found it kind of interesting, I figured it would be good for a touch of music in the bedroom with the aid of a USB sound card.

[edit]posted too soon, the price is $220US++ I think I'd opt for a Pico-ITX solution over this... with double the power[/edit]

Strange. The picture looks like it has a dipole wifi antenna out of the back, but the specs say nothing about it?

The specs say it has integrated G-wireless. It also says it has 512MB of DDR, dunno where Langer got his specs!

I copied my specs from their site, only I copied them from 'FitPC 1.0' spec, and not the 'FitPC slim' spec... by bad.

Fair enough really - they offer a Slim with 256MB of RAM too.

Pretty cool though really. Definately a tempting idea for a Carpc.
