Thanks avolla. But to be honest I do not know if I will continue those concept. Yesterday, my car decided it won't start up. I took it at the garage 3 times in 2 month and it already costed me 2000€. I have now to buy a new car and thus won't have the Mo' money (especially since the loan for the current non-starting one is still runing for 3 years, and the car is no more under warranty) for a project before a few years. So no build for me before the car is payed Luck ... when you don't have it Edit : I will continue to propose some designs for those who wanna build them for their own use, but they won't be built by my hands before a good 5 years.
sorry to hear that. the designs were coming along so nicely too. I wish you the best with the car situation and if nothing else there's always bicycles. Good luck and mod on.
Thanks mate. But this is only a car. I still have a roof above my head, a job and my childrens and wife are in good health ... computer isn't mandatory in a life, this will leave my tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime to come with THE design that will suites me. My rig is still powerfull enough for me . I'll propose less personnal designs, trying to make stuff that suites a wider range of users . As I already said, I'd like to have my designs manufactured ... maybe this is the time to work on average-joe innovative designs. Mo' money and electronics ... I wish I had a Morgan four-seater, with only mecanical parts. When electronics start to fail in modern cars .... it costs you arms, ligger and lung
That's exactly why I'm looking for older cars aswell. Nothing beats good old mechanics, when it comes to cars. I'm thinking of something younger and less exotic tho... restaurating and slightly pimpin a Volvo Amazon like in this quick Photoshop, where I added some colours to see what a two-colour-paintshop would look like This will be still expensive tho, as finding a good chassis isn't that easy
Nice color scheme JRS ... I like bicolor paint job on cars. Too bad that it is hard to have old cars with a chassis in good health.
do you happen to have any of these SSI mobo in SU that you could share? i would love to modle up a pc using one of these half SSI mobos keep up the great work btw
Mo money .... in a way, if I had enough money I will have not enough room and time . I agree, he is evil .... just when I got over the half SSI boards, he gave me this SU file .... I trully had to play with it I still think this could make a nice contest idea. If someone is lurking around, searching for some ideas for a contest
i could be, not to mention the sheer volume of cores in such a small space and you could bet an amazing gpu for those cores also
Just got my car back from the garage .... and left 900€ there . Now that it is working again, I'll sell it to refund the loan and take a new loan to buy a new car. I'm trying to find a good ol' car with not much electronic in it. I fixed myself a limit of 10K€, but less would be better. It should be big enough for my 4 head lil' familly and our luggages, reliable and not too hungry.
Due to the lastest event and the resulting budget restriction, I'm going to keep my whole config and try to do something with it. This induce no watercooling, Xfire or any fancy stuff. Back to air cooling then. The idea is to have something pretty compact, with great airflow and stylish. What power tools do I have : - Driller and mesh - A dremel + flexible + tools. What hand tools do I have : - Filler and tapper - hand saw (wood and metal) - chisels - wood working tools - gas soldering iron (that can be used as torch, heatgun or heat-knife) - screw drivers - Hammer + anvil I'll have to do everything with that .... looks doable. The first design I came up with is a suspented chassis (chain not displayed) Intake fans are 180mm Air Penetrators (this will be the unique new thing). What do you think about that ? This is only a first attempt, but I kinda like it.
180mm AP's are beastly fans, and that layout would really get the best performance out of them. Except they're exhausting air in that scenario, but otherwise; it's all good! Might need to give yourself a little extra room in the case for cable routing, however, else you'll run into the old pitfall of working out how on earth you're going to hide half the cables you're using.
Thanks matey. I've noticed that when I posted this .... I've reversed them since then, but I didn't made the 2D export. It's already planed. I have plenty of space behind the mobo to make a nice and tidy cable routing (~15mm) as well as fitting an SSD and a 2.5" HDD. Innards panels are under design but I do not want any cable to be visible .
