The Halloween thread -What are you for Halloween? (Pics)

When did this become a contest?
Oh well.

Halloween has always been very big for me as my birthday is November 1st, so I always do something cool for Halloween and have a party of some kind. (I had 486Hawk, and Mr. Red over to LAN)

It seem I always end up modding some thing.

For example when living near Chicago I setup a very cool entry way to my parents house for halloween.

I took my friends large laser (A laser pointer would have been fine, but bigger is better

Aimed it out the front window to a mirror attached to a mini-vice.
The laser then bounced accross my front walk way to a sensor.

I decorated the front porch and added a red and blue light.
It didn't look all that scary.

BUT, this is where the laser comes in.

I built a simple 555 timer and relay circuit.
The circuit would turn off the red and blue lights and turn on a strobe light and blacklight.

I also took a short 30 second looping outgoing message tape from an anwering machine, and looped a recording of someone screaming on it.
I had it running in a boom box, and connected it's speaker trough a relay.

So bacily when some kid walked up the place looked 'somewhat' dressed up for halloween.
But as soon as the laser was tripped all 'heck broke loose.
The black light lit up some glow in the dark stuff, the strobe suddenly made everything move slower, and the screaming just plain scared people.

You know you succeded when the kids run off rather then finish coming to the door.

Other things I have done for halloween:

One I like is to make a scarecrow out of old clothes and bed sheets. put a mask on it, and set it on the porch holding a candy bowl.
THEN, I would dress in a similar fashion, put on a mask (Where you can't see my eyes) and sit next to the fake scarecrow.

Kids come up, and naturaly poke and kick the fake scarecrow.
But when I suddenly jump at them, they instantly freak.

Another me an my family did was right after we carpeted the house.

We took tons of the carpet padding (The wavy stuff)
and layed it out on the porch, this made a VERY soft and brain like texture on the ground. We then had fog running over it.
Basicly the ground felt very wrong, like walking on dead bodies.

So I have always liked halloween
Now I am in an apartment, but later I will for sure have the house that everyone freaks out at on halloween.

I kinda left thinking about what I was going as until the day. Was gonna go as a nurse but wouldn't have been able to get the costume in time. So I thought, schoolgirl, but couldn't really be bothered buying shirt, skirt...bra and it was too late to contact any lady friends.

So I went as a very boring cowboy. The costume was actually alright, just a bit average. Better than going out wearing regular clothes anyway

Just went to me usual club. Queued for 2 hours in sub zero temps wearing a checked shirt. Then got in eventually to be packed with thousands of annoying non-regulars. Was a pish night tbh.

Quickly grabbing both my guns out of my holster at shooting like mad at the sight of any indians was about as good as it got.

I didn't realise how much you look like Agent Smith til I saw the new matrix trailer. You have far too much fun on Halloween mate - I like the scarecrow idea. Very clever.

Halloween isn't really followed here - I had 2 people come to the door last year and had nothing much to give em (chocolate biscuits saved the day), so this year we got a big bag of chocolate frogs and bars. No one showed up lol! Maybe the word spread about how slim the picking were at our house (or how crap our biscuits tasted)!

i was just a hick farmer for a halloween party (it was on short notice and i couldnt get all the stuff i wanted for being anything else but it worked out alright)

HAHAHA Zap I love doing that. I did that like 2 years ago. I was like a really bad looking frankenstein and I made a really bad looking scarecrow one. The thing is I would try and constantly switch spots, so when smart little kids thought they were smart they would kick at the fake frank thinking it was still me and I would still end up getting them =P Zap must live in a neighborhood similar to the one I lived in. Its good fun, and usually there are no morons running around messing it up. Its also nice when people do up there house nice. Its all really good fun.
