I cannot get onto these sites, an nslookup fails and I saw one person mention a problem with BTs DNS. Anyone heard anything? Thanks
Nope, I've been trying to get on Kotaku for about ten hours now. I've not had any luck. This is even more concerning, it seems that BT really have screwed something up on their end. Edit; Mmm'kay. It appears to be BT's DNS servers, I just flipped my PC to use Google's DNS servers (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) and suddenly I can load Kotaku without an issue. I hope they fix this quickly.
I don't know if it's just these particular sites. I've been having DNS lookup failures all morning on TalkTalk!
Probably is. Might have to change the DNS on the router, if you have access. BT's seems to be a bit screwed up at the second.
I went for the try it til it works method. It worked. But now I cannot access Reddit -.- and this is with Google DNS.

More scarily; whatever this is just hit Google's DNS too. It's almost as if someone's managed to seed a set of dud links into every DNS I can get access to. Ironically; Open DNS's site is inaccessible.
Yep, I've been having DNS issues all morning on a variety of sites. I'm just going to wait for it to sort itself out.
OpenDNS and Google's DNS servers just fell to the same issue Kotaku and LastFM became inaccessible. Fun times.
I am not sure if this is related, a lot of people are having issues connecting to major game servers.
THE INTERNET IS DYING! On a more serious note, people have tried to attack DNS servers before. Anonymous were planning to do it, but it was called off, after realising just how stupid it was.
Then why would we loose access to such a seemingly random assortment of sites? I mean, who gains from breaking Kotaku and LastFM access? Besides, how would you even go about corrupting so many DNS tables?
Ebay still works on this end... As does Reddit, but i'm still using OpenDNS at the moment. It's possible they'll vanish too.
Done. This will be something to tell the grandchildren. "I was there when the internet died." And in case we lose Bit.
