Awesome, Awesome article, I guess great minds think alike. I found it interestng that you went with the FlexATX, I'm planning to go with MicroATX.
I was just wondering what if any cooling issues one has to deal with when making a relatively cramped case out of acrylic.
Great article though, keep up the good work. :)

    Welcome to the boards!

The FlexATX decision was purely a size one, as described somewhat in the planning article (http://www.bit-tech.net/article/67/), which may be of use to you as well.

I sort of dodged the cooling bullet by using a Celeron chip. The PSU throuws off more heat than the CPU unless I'm beating on it.

    Good luck with yours.

    OMG Schweet!

As soon as I say that drive window, I knew what you had in mind, cos I did too. If it had not been for a lack of money and time, I may of had one myself.

I didn't. The chassis is normally connected to earth ground (the third wire in tehe mains connection) for safety, not necessarily electrical performance reasons. Since my chassis is non-conductive (don't make me look up the exact specs :D) I didn't see much safety issue with omitting the ground connection. I didn't want to look at a bunch of ugly wires.

You didn't ask, but static is dealt with rather nicely by using Novus #1 polish. The sides do not build up a charge the way unploished acrylic will.

You also didn't ask, but it generates no detectable EMI for me. I don't have any really sensitive detection gear though.

That is one of the best articles I have ever read, brilliantly descibing everything with good pictures to match. I was gonna ask about a static problem, but as it has already ansewered:) I have read that article back to front, and still cant belive the detail gone in. I belive you and macroman are the best modders in the world :);)

    That's where I wanted them. ;)

Acyually I've been of the opinion for a long time that they belong on the front, and building my own case was a chance to test the idea out. I find it convenient.

Awesome case Linear. I would have trouble spending 3 months on a case but it seems like you really enjoyed it.

Congrats on a job well done.
